Shop Update: Silk & Sport

After having nearly sold out of both of the new labels, Silk Sheep and Sporty Sheep, the weather finally cooperated for a full day this week and I was able to dye up some rockin’ color ways. (I do all of my dyeing outdoors because, well, yarn dyed and dried in the sunshine is like bedsheets dried on the line — it just soaks up the energy of the sun and knits better!). If you’ve been stalking these yarns, and you’ve been waiting for them to be restocked, you are in luck!

Also, I’ve added some springy color ways to each. Silk Sheep gets Margaritaville, which is a tonal pale to medium kelly, and Sultan of Swing, which is a super-unique shade of teal blue that made me think of silk turbans and the waters of Fiji at the same time. I almost didn’t list this one. It took considerable will power not to hide it away in my stash. Sporty Sheep gets Blue Raspberry, Lemon Drop, and Spring. If you check out this section on my website, you might be inclined to think that someone’s gum ball machine exploded all over the page. I think you’ll be hard pressed to find colors that fun and bright in a springy, squishy sport Merino anywhere else. I’m not usually a sport knitter, but I’ve been thinking hard about working up a striped sweater in Sport Sheep for myself. It’s also super great for mitts, spring cowls, and baby sweaters.

In other news… Spring Fling 2016 (Atlanta) and the Carolina Fiber Fest (Raleigh) are on my yarn show radar this month, so there are oodles of Rocket Sock, Rocket Sock Medium, and Journey colorways that are not going to be available online until probably mid-April, but which will be completely available in my booth. There will also be some new double-grommet project bags available at these shows made from some limited availability fabrics. If you are in the area, or are in need of a day trip, I hope you will visit me at one of these events, both of which promise to overflow with yarn and fiber awesomeness.

Happy crafting!
