Queen Bee Leg Warmers Kit

I am so happy to introduce our new knitting project kit, the Queen Bee Leg Warmers. These adorable warmers are knit with one skein of super soft, washable, Luna Grey Fiber Arts Aspen Sport hand-dyed yarn. Knit in the round using double pointed needles, the cuff is knit with needles two sizes smaller than the body of the warmers to ensure a snug, secure fit. The highly textured honeycomb lace pattern is easy to memorize and fast to knit. Pattern includes instructions for three sizes: 1-3 years, 4-6 years & 7-9 years.

The best part? Through May 10th, you can get the pattern for free (a $4 savings) when you purchase a Queen Bee kit using coupon code QueenBeeMay at checkout.

The Sidere Shawl Kit

The Sidere shawl kit is the perfect gift for the knitter in your life. Or, treat yourself with a ready-to-knit project!

This kit comes complete with a PDF copy of accomplished pattern designer Hilary Smith Callis’s lacy shawl pattern, Sidere, as well as one skein of silky soft Luna Grey Fiber Arts hand dyed Starbright yarn in your choice of colorway (color shown: Radiant Orchid). This is an intermediate level pattern.

In the designer’s words… “Sidere (Latin for starlight) is a lightweight asymmetrical shawl. Knit from the top down beginning with just a few stitches, Sidere’s crescent shape is created with increases placed in every row and its asymmetry is the result of short rows worked in stockinette stitch between bands of a very simple textured stitch pattern. The stitch pattern gives this airy piece a great deal of surface texture that resembles sparkling stars converging on one end of the shawl, and a picot bind off echoes the same texture at the edge.”

Finished Measurements:
Length of top, straight edge: 78”/ 198 cm
Height at thickest part of center: 18.5”/ 47 cm

Fanciful Flower Project Kit

I am super excited about my recent collaboration with the brilliantly talented knitwear designer Natalie Pelykh. Natalie created a stunning, intricately cabled hat using Luna Grey Altair yarn. Altair is a unique blend of soft superwash Merino, Tencel and nylon. It’s smooth texture accentuates cable work beautifully.

Natalie and I decided to offer her Fanciful Flower hat pattern as a project kit in my shop. Kits make a perfect gift for the knitter in your life. Or, treat yourself with a ready-to-knit project! This is an intermediate level pattern suitable for knitters who are comfortable knitting detailed cable work. The hat is sized from child to adult.

Luna Viridis Cowl Knitting Kit

We are so excited to have paired with accomplished pattern designer Hilary Smith Callis to create a fun-to-knit project kit. Luna Viridis is a deeply textured cowl worked up in Luna Grey Fiber Arts Celeste yarn. It begins as a semi-circular shawl with a Stockinette Stitch center worked flat, and is then joined and worked in the round to create a circular piece that mimics a shawlette wrapped around the neck. Little green crescent moons adorn the cowl, encircling the majority of it, and are separated by simple bands of Garter Stitch. Using just one skein of a pretty sock yarn, this is a fun knit, and a great way to add a pop of color and texture to any outfit.

The kit, available here, comes complete with a PDF file of Hilary’s detailed Luna Viridis cowl pattern as well as one skein of Luna Grey Fiber Arts Celeste yarn in your colorway of choice.

Introducing Our Newest Colorway for Summer 2014 – Sea Glass

Inspired by a recent trip to the beaches of Southern California, I created our newest colorway, Sea Glass – A cool combination of soft aqua and pale lime green.

I will be dyeing this beautiful colorway onto most of my base yarns in the coming weeks. However, if you need a particular base yarn dyed up in this colorway and do not see that it is currently available, just let me know. I’d be happy to create a custom listing for you!

Sea Glass is available exclusively on our new website, lunagreyfiberarts.com.

Much Love,
Jackie
