It’s hard to believe this crazy year is soon coming to a close. It seems like only yesterday I was ringing in 2016 with my husband in a Santa Barbara hotel room, falling asleep after watching the Times Square ball drop at 9 p.m. Pacific time (ah, jet lag).

2015 holiday newsletter giveaway
I know we say this every year, but the holidays have snuck up on me. It seems like only yesterday I was lighting the first menorah candle (from left to right, because my childhood with an electric menorah that we displayed in the window didn’t prepare me well for lighting actual candles…). Since Hanukkah was early this year, my newsletter giveaway doesn’t overlap with both winter holidays, but I hope you’ll appreciate the sentiment just the same….

If you’ve had a chance to poke around That Clever Clementine’s Etsy shop, you know she makes some super cute bags and notions pouches. A couple of years ago, when I was in Maryland for the Verdant Gryphon open house, I was lucky enough to get a peek at Vicki’s fabric collection, which, as she so accurately described, is pretty extensive. My eyes darted in amazement over the piles of brightly-colored cloth covering one of her guest rooms….
