Her semisolid and variegated colorways are inspired by, and named for, native Australian birds. As soon as I saw Janina Kallio’s newest design, Marrakesh, I knew it was going to be one of my next projects. The color possibilities for this crescent-shaped shawl, with squishy garter stitch and lacy chevron, are endless — and there are some beautiful combinations being posted on the thread for a Marrakesh KAL in Janina’s Ravelry group. The KAL runs through Dec. 13, and it’s pretty loose, but don’t let that stop you from casting on ASAP.
