Hand dyed yarns inspired by my life on a farm in rural Tennessee

Hi! I am Shauna and am the dyer behind Farm Girl Fibers. I started dyeing yarns in 2017 for myself and then this summer (2018) I decided to add hand dyed yarns to my shop. My family and I live on my husband’s family farm in Alpine, Tennessee. We are located about 100 miles northeast of Nashville in the Upper Cumberland area of middle Tennessee. So many of my colorways are inspired by nature and my life on a farm. My dream is to take my fiber business and turn it into a full-time career. I love creating and making things. So when I get to spend a day playing with dyes and colors to see what combinations I end up with, I just feel so fulfilled by the end of the day.

I had my first trunk show last month and had such a blast that day. So am looking forward to many more trunk shows and fiber festivals. Right now I am getting ready for Fiber in the Boro in Murfreesboro next month and hope to meet lots of yarn loving people there. The fiber community has been so supportive and I just love seeing how caring and supportive people are. I am so glad I found this community because it has really gave me the courage to start making my dream of owning a business a reality.
