The creative force behind OwlCatDesigns, Simone, lets her love for nature and the hidden beauty in the world around us speak through all her designs. Be it intricate lace shawls, garments with nifty detailing or a simple accessory collection, her designs always have a story to tell.
Originally from Switzerland, Simone grew up with a different approach to knitwear and knitting design, having learned to design sweaters early on in life. Her designs are creative yet classic, sometimes with a touch of retro thrown into the mix for good measure.
Simone is the author of ‘over mossy stones…’ a collection of patterns inspired by a walk in the woods, ‘Karyai’ a pattern collection around classic greek style and mosaic knitting and her latest ‘Full Fathom’, released in German as well as English, a collection with a maritime theme.
She brings her enthusiasm for the creativity of yarn and her love for teaching to all her workshops and classes, while her passion for fine arts and her ability to speak several languages have helped her understand and relate to students of varying levels of expertise and have shaped her ability to create patterns that are easy to read yet result in creative and classic designs.
