Hope you all have had a wonderful summer. Just wanted to let you know that I have moved my shop to a Shopify website. You can find it at I am really excited about the new site and will start blogging on it very soon.

I have some new fall-inspired colors and a Halloween color available for preorder. I am so excited about all the new colors. I have new tonals and speckled colors. And there’s also some shawl sets available in the shop.

There are still some 20g Advent calendar spots open and I am going to start dyeing for those in the next couple of weeks.

Advent preorders & new summer colors

Hope everyone is having a wonderful summer. I have lots of new and bright summer colors in the shop.

In other shop news, I am super excited to be offering Advent calendars for the first time this year. My Favorite Things Advents will be up for preorder on Sunday, June 16 at 9 a.m Central time. For the Advents, I am offering four options to help you find something that fits your budget and yarn needs. Each option will include the yarn, a beaded stitch marker and some small treats like candies and teas. Color inspiration will be pulled from my favorite things. So think Harry Potter, Disney, Christmas movies & treats, music, nature & outdoors, Doctor Who and winter. While there will be some traditional reds and greens, there will be lots of other colors included in these skeins. I also want to have a KAL for the Advents so we can use them together. So I will be wrapping them in an order I think will work well for a single project.

The options are these:
1) 24 – 10g minis = $75
2) 24 – 10g minis + 100g skein for Christmas Day = $100
3) 24 – 20g minis = $135
4) 24 – 20g minis + 100g skein for Christmas Day = $160

I have been busy experimenting and playing with yarn and dye. There are lots of brand new colorways in the shop for spring, and some new Harry Potter-inspired colors that I am super excited about.

I am excited to be vending at The Fiber Event in Greencastle, IN, on April 19 & 20. If you are in the area, please stop by – I would love to meet you.

Hope everyone has a wonderful spring!

Shop Update & New Colorways

Hi everyone! Hope you are all having an awesome fall season. I know I am loving the chance to wear all of my hand knits. I have some really great sweater yarn, it is so soft and cozy, and I have been knitting a ton of sweaters lately.

I updated my shop this week and there are lots of yarns and colors to choose from. Lots of sweaters quantities available on my Clover fingering weight and my Worsted Merino bases. The Clover base is 85% SW Merino and 15% nylon and is so soft and lovely. The worsted weight is 100% SW merino and again, it is super soft and cozy. I also have some great MCN yarn available in a variety of colorways.

There’s lots of fall- and winter-inspired colors in this update. I have really been wanting to use tonals lately so I have some nice red, green, blue, brown and plum tonals that would be great for any project.

Please check it out and thank you so much for supporting my shop. It really has been a dream of mine for some time now and I am so happy to be finally starting this new chapter in my life.

Hand dyed yarns inspired by my life on a farm in rural Tennessee

Hi! I am Shauna and am the dyer behind Farm Girl Fibers. I started dyeing yarns in 2017 for myself and then this summer (2018) I decided to add hand dyed yarns to my shop. My family and I live on my husband’s family farm in Alpine, Tennessee. We are located about 100 miles northeast of Nashville in the Upper Cumberland area of middle Tennessee. So many of my colorways are inspired by nature and my life on a farm. My dream is to take my fiber business and turn it into a full-time career. I love creating and making things. So when I get to spend a day playing with dyes and colors to see what combinations I end up with, I just feel so fulfilled by the end of the day.

I had my first trunk show last month and had such a blast that day. So am looking forward to many more trunk shows and fiber festivals. Right now I am getting ready for Fiber in the Boro in Murfreesboro next month and hope to meet lots of yarn loving people there. The fiber community has been so supportive and I just love seeing how caring and supportive people are. I am so glad I found this community because it has really gave me the courage to start making my dream of owning a business a reality.
