In preparation for a move after 11 years in the same apartment, I’ve decided that I need a little help from you. No, not the heavy lifting kind of help. The Help me not have to pack so much yarn kind of help.
Now through Sept. 9, 2016, take 25% off your purchase of any in-stock skein or set of buttons from Berry Colorful Yarnings and Buttonalia by using the code MOVING. I’m happy to combine shipping on orders placed on the same day and two or more skeins of yarn ship free!
On April 4, Indie Untangled entered what I am calling the Terrific Twos. I can’t believe it’s been two years since I sent the first newsletter. Aside from spreading the news on shop updates and sales, I’ve also gotten to collaborate with with some talented artisans, including Vicki of That Clever Clementine, Michelle of Berry Colorful Yarnings and Sharri of Buttonalia.
Use the code IU2 once in each shop for 20% off each order. I’m happy to combine shipping on orders placed on the same day.
In honor of Valentine’s Day, I’m giving you a little treat: Any purchase from the Berry Colorful Yarnings shop, now through Feb. 14, will include the pattern of your choice from any of the Indie Untangled designers listed below. You could pair one of the gradient sock blanks or a skein of self-striping yarn with one of Lara Smoot’s sock patterns, a knit a gradient Holden from Mindy Wilkes, a gradient Eugene by Jennifer Dassau… the possibilities are endless.
As always, two or more skeins ship free in the U.S., and if you want to throw in a set of Buttonalia buttons or an in-stock yarn ball or Untangling project bag, any extra shipping will be refunded. *Limit one free pattern per customer. I will get in touch with you after you complete your order to find out which pattern you would like and to get your Ravelry ID.

I still can’t believe that Rhinebeck is over. My stash, on the other hand, is still very much present, and a great reminder of such a wonderful weekend. I’m sure you also have plenty of projects planned, or already on the needles, so there’s some good news: The Indie Untangled shop is stocked with some project bags and a yarn bowl all ready to ship. There’s also a Loopy Lulu bag featured in the Untangling kits, and Vicki of That Clever Clementine also created Snapdragon notions pouches in the Untangling fabric.
I’ve also decided to keep the excitement of Black Friday going, and I’m offering free U.S. shipping on bag orders of $75 or more! There’s also free U.S. shipping on two or more skeins of Berry Colorful Yarnings and three or more sets of buttons from Buttonalia. If you are interested in orders from multiple shops, I am happy to combine orders and refund any extra shipping.
As she did last year, the lovely Michelle of Berry Colorful Yarnings sent me a huge box of her awesome self-striping sock yarn to sell at the 2015 Rhinebeck Trunk Show. Her shipment included an appropriate Fall colorway, as well as one called HP, inspired by a certain boy wizard. She also sent me some of her newest goodies — sock blanks in some beautiful gradients, including the Steel, Sangria and Sky colorways pictured here. The sock blanks are the perfect solution for us impatient knitters, since you can knit straight from the blank. Michelle also wound some of the self-striping skeins into balls, giving you no excuses for casting on your next project (maybe an Untangling cowl?)
These goodies are for sale now on Indie Untangled! As a Black Friday bonus, the first five buyers have the opportunity to add — for free — one of six remaining hand-stamped drawstring bags that served as the goody bags for the trunk show. There is also FREE U.S. SHIPPING through Monday, Nov. 30 — which also happens to be my birthday. 🙂
Today is your last day to get your hands on the remaining skeins in the post-Rhinebeck French Market Fibers update! Margaret has decided to include the skeins of Cocktail Brunch, Storyland, Hurricane and more in her shipment to The Knot House, a wonderful yarn shop in Frederick, Maryland. The page will be taken down this Tuesday, Nov. 10. Thanks to everyone who made this IU update such a success!
Also, if you would like to include some Buttonalia buttons in your order, I am happy to combine shipping and will refund you the extra amount.
One of my favorite parts of this year’s Rhinebeck Trunk Show was being surrounded by dozens of skeins of French Market Fibers at the Indie Untangled booth. Those of you who are familiar with Margaret’s yarn know what a hot commodity it is, so getting to see all the colors and speckles in real life — and seeing them fly off the shelves during the show, not unlike one of the Etsy updates — was pretty amazing.
It was also great to spend time with Margaret, who came up from New Orleans with her husband and adorable daughter for their first Rhinebeck. Since she had her hands full, literally and figuratively, we agreed that I would take the remaining skeins back to the city with me and have a special Indie Untangled update.
I am happy to say that all the skeins did not wander into my stash, and that there will be a French Market Fibers update this Friday, Oct. 30, at 9 a.m. Eastern Time here. If you subscribe to the newsletter before Friday, you’ll have access to the page an hour earlier with the password.
A few months ago, I reached out to three talented people who I’d gotten to know during the crazy ride of creating Indie Untangled. When I came up with the idea for the site, I wanted to not only spread the word about shop updates and sales, but also curate special packages from some of my favorite indie yarntrepreneurs.
The result was Untangling, a collaboration between Michelle of Berry Colorful Yarnings, designer Lara Smoot and Vicki of That Clever Clementine. The kit includes a skein of Michelle’s incredible self-striping sock yarn in one of three available colorways, including the exclusive Indie blue, the pattern for Lara’s lovely infinity scarf and a loop-handled Lulu bag in an exclusive fabric handcrafted by Vicki.
A limited number of dyed- and sewn-to-order kits are on sale at Indie Untangled through the end of the day on June 21. Order yours here!
