The Spanish Lace Cocoon

  • A taupe lace wrap.

It’s cooling off here in the California Gold Country with our Fall just underway!

Leaving the house in the morning and evening definitely requires a wrap. Not a coat, just a light layer to keep off the chill.

Enter the gorgeous Spanish Lace Cocoon!

This lace stitch is a true lace; yarnovers/increases/decreases occur on both sides of the work.

Fast enough to knit on size US 9 needles to be ready to wear in a couple of weeks, pretty enough for dressy occasions, bohemian enough for wearing over leggings or jeans for errands about town. It’s also a great style for around the house or office when it’s not quite chilly enough to turn on the heat.

The cotton/nylon blend is just enough to chase the chill and so easy care! You’ll live in this wrap all fall and into winter!

(We also offer this style in a wool blend. Email me for pricing/colors.)

The pattern is written in two sizes, Sm/Med (for 5’4′ and under) and Large/Xlarge (over 5’4″).

This week, enjoy some savings! Buy the kit for our Spanish Lace Cocoon at 20% off and get the PDF pattern for free (a $12 value!). Offer is good until 10/20/19.

The Catarina Cowl

  • A colorwork cowl made with purple, pink and aqua yarn.

Historical motifs and stitch patterns are among my favorite to recreate. It always leaves me with a feeling of awe to think of people and the items they made using this very pattern so long ago.

The brocade-like stitch patterns on this plush Fair Isle Cashmere cowl are taken from an antique book of Russian embroidery motifs found in my favorite used book store and translated into knitting charts. The pairing of a solid cashmere with a hand-painted colorway give the illusion of complicated color work when truly only two yarns are used, so you have a fast, beautifully colorful, satisfying knit.

This cowl is knit in the round using the stranded colorwork and the yarn is held double throughout for a thick, cozy cowl. Skill level is for advanced beginners.

Beaded lace in Cashmere

  • A pink lace scarf with beads.

Try our beautiful new beaded Faerie Fire scarf or stole (we’re offering this beauty in two sizes) for that special little accessory that turns heads and captures hearts!

Knitted in our soft, elegant 100% Mongolian Cashmere, the addition of Czech glass beads makes this a truly heirloom piece to be worn and loved for years to come.

The yarn is lush to the touch and the glass beads give the garment a beautiful, weighty feel that sits easily on your neck or shoulders. Great as a gift (it’s that time of year) or as a special addition to your Fall wardrobe, this style is available in Angel Skin Pink, Pearly White or Royal Purple.

Not only will you be working with luxurious Cashmere and beads, you’ll also learn the useful technique of adding beads with a crochet hook as you knit. It’s so much easier than pre-stringing and your beads always stay visible on the public side of the work!

Cashmere and Lace

  • A lace scarf in lime green, purple and ivory

It’s no secret that I love to design with, knit and wear lace.

I also like to plan ahead. So, with holiday knitting season beginning, we’ll help you do that too with this excellent offer!

Our Botanical Scarf Yarn Pack comes with three balls of elegant White Lies Designs 100% Cashmere in the three colors shown here AND our e-book “The Botanical Scarf Collection,” which contains patterns for lovely foliage themed scarves.

Cashmere is the definitive fiber for these lovely little pleasures and the traditional lace stitch patterns included in our e-book were chosen to give the knitter three progressively more skilled motifs, so you’ll build your lace knitting skills as well as create some wonderful gifts!

Not only that, patterns are written out AND charted using the Stitch-Maps system created by JC Briar (this is a wonderful new take on grid-less knitting charts that is especially helpful for those who “just don’t get” knitting with charts).

Get the e-book and three divine balls of squishy, soft Cashmere goodness (a $108 value) for just $78! This offer is good until 9/3.

Psst… While you’re visiting our site, have a look at our pretty shawl pins, too!

The Hybrid Tee

  • A baggy purple long-sleeve T-shirt with a purple lace trim

I know that one of the most frustrating things about knitting garments is wondering if, after days and weeks of work, the thing is going to fit.

Cleverly, we’ve come up with a way to circumvent that whole drama!

We sourced the perfec 100% cotton, easy-fitting A-line tee and we found a great organic cotton yarn. We swished both together in the dye pot and out came the wonderful Hybrid Tee projects you see below! All styles shown are included in the pattern, so choose your color now, and then decide which style to knit.

These are the perfect vacation or weekend projects. You’ve already tried the tee on, so you know what to expect in terms of fit. Nothing left but to enjoy some pretty lace knitting, sew the details to your tee and bask in the glow of compliments!

This style is great with jeans and long enough to wear as a tunic over leggings. All in all, it’s the prettiest, comfiest tee around and you’ll want one in each style and color!

Nancy S. (see her in our slideshow above) is a lovely customer who recently finished her Hybrid Tee. Nancy says, “I think this is a great project for someone who might be a bit skittish about knitting lace. Since the pieces are small, it’s no big deal to rip if you make an error and they’re easy to take on the go. I love my tee with a crisp, white skirt and I’m going to try it with two other options as well: Deep rose-colored skinny pants and light purple Palazzo pants!”

We think Nancy looks wonderful! You too can look gorgeous AND save $5 on the kit before August 12 in sizes S-3X.

So many indie dyers. One email.
