Friday Shop Update: Knit Happens!

This Friday we bring you Knit Happens from one of our newest favorite indie artists, Cynthia Frenette!

We have a very limited amount of ready to ship items — but will also have the option for preorders, should something sell out!

This is our first release with the NEW medium project bag and we are super excited to show you how much more room there is!

Check our Facebook page for a Facebook Live Friday morning. If you don’t catch it live, it will be up on the page for you to watch later!

Friday is Laura’s Birthday, so feel free to say “Happy Birthday” this weekend!

Meet Brooke of Fully Spun

My name is Brooke, and I am the Owner and Dyer behind Fully Spun. Not familiar with Fully Spun? The short version of our story is that we love color! The long version is that our mission is to allow others to express themselves through color by dyeing yarns in non-traditional and traditional methods. My primary dye technique, the Fully Spun method, is to hand-dye wool roving before having it spun. Some people will love Fully Spun yarn because it looks like handspun, and others simply fall in love with the colors. You can read more about that on our About page, but I’d like to update you on something amazing that I am currently a part of.

I was excited when Diane of Lady Dye Yarns invited me to join seven other Black Female Entrepreneurs and be a part of the Fab 8 Craft Club. This is the perfect way to support many small businesses in one purchase and in return get a great deal on eight handmade and hand-designed items!

What you will get in the Fab 8 Craft Club Collaboration:

1 Skein of Fingering Weight Yarn (425 yards) by Lady Dye Yarns
1 Skein of Yarn by Fully Spun
Exclusive Knitting Pattern by Jeanette Sloan
Exclusive Crochet Pattern by Knit And CroShay
Stitch Marker(s) by Mrs U Makes
An enamel pin by CreativeCeci
A button by Crochet Luna
AND a SURPRISE GIFT (we will reveal later on in January)

The FiberCrafty shops are celebrating Small Business Saturday in a big way!

We aren’t just celebrating Small Business Saturday — we celebrate small businesses every day! Over at the FiberCrafty Marketplace, we are having a full week long frenzy with plenty of our shops offering coupon codes, free shipping and other goodies! If you want to get a complete list of all the deals to be found, just let me know.

In the meantime, let me tempt you with highlights from a few of our shops! Pictured above, in order.

Named after Marissa’s first bunny, The Spun Bunny specializes in beautiful handdyed yarn and fiber that come in a variety of fibers, bases and preparations. A beautiful selection from her studio in PA!

Several of our shops have AMAZING variety. Pixie Knit Designs is one of them. Based in NC, Tammie has handspun yarn, stitch markers and fiber for spinning.

Donna, based in NJ, owns LunaStitch which is another varied shop. She makes high quality project bags, has beautiful magnetic shawl pins (no holes!) and tools (fabulous stocking stuffers!)

The proprietress of My Grandma’s Garden is Lori of IL and she plays with clay. She has unique tools, buttons and stitch markers in her shop. She also has yarn keepers, handspun yarn and more! Well worth a look.

If you are part of any fandom, check out The Artful Princess! Sarah is based in GA and offers a large collection of exquisitely made project bags and stitch markers.

Serenity Artisans is the place to go for a luxury gift. Sue handcrafts stunning yarn bowls in PA from a variety of woods. These are an elegant example of functional art for fiber crafters.

This is just a sampling of the shops and products on FiberCrafty! Do you follow us on Instagram? We help you stay in the loop with our newest listings.

Shop owners: if you are looking for an easy to use, cost-effective place to host a shop front, take a look at FiberCrafty! We provide a lot of information in our FAQ and it just takes a few minutes to open a shop. Questions? Just hit the Contact Vendor button!
