Happy July!

July is Tour de Fleece month and I hope you are all happily spinning away! If you need more fiber to spin during the tour, or to refill your stash for after, I have a little something for you: Forest, my newest fiber braid in fun shades of green, inspired by a walk in the forest!

Here are the details of Forest:

– 57g (2oz)
– 100% wool (Romney)
– $11 per braid

As always, I purchased the raw fleece and then processed and dyed it by hand. So lots of my love and passion for fiber crafts went into these braids!

You can find Forest, as well as other fiber and also some yarn, on my website.

And if you want to be among the first to get notified about new updates AND receive exclusive discounts, including free shipping, consider becoming a fiber pack member by subscribing to my (free) monthly newsletter here.

Hello all!

When I first started knitting, I desperately wanted to also learn to spin my own yarn… and like many who have come before me, that ultimately led to dyeing my own fiber to spin. For quite a while now I have wanted to bring hand-dyed fiber into the shop, and I’m thrilled to announce that we have recently released the first of many fiber colorways!

We have also just released our Summer Splash set, a stunning gradient set that brings an amazing burst of color to any project. Purchase as a set, or buy individual skeins à la carte!

Lastly, while summer is flying in by, we are working on our upcoming Halloween colors, as well as our Holiday Advents! The first two releases are in the shop, and I couldn’t be happier with how they turned out. For those The Nightmare Before Christmas fans, you should definitely take a look at our Jack and Sally colorways!

We can’t wait to show you what else is heading your way this summer! Make sure to follow us on Instagram @cashmereandcoconutsstore and definitely make sure to favorite our Etsy shop.

While you’re there, save 10% across most our shop!

Have a fantastic weekend!

Today I am proud to announce that I am now an official fiber provider for the Shave ‘Em to Save ‘Em initiative of The Livestock Conservancy (for more information go to rarewool.org)!

As you might already know, this initiative is an effort to get endangered breeds back into the minds and hands of fiber artists and I personally think it is a wonderful way to experience how different the wool of different sheep actually is.

So being a small part of this makes me very proud!

I currently offer Casper, a naturally-colored CVM/Romeldale roving, but I plan to add yarn as well as dyed versions of both roving and yarn in the future.

There is an option in the product listing for SE2SE participation, just make sure you also buy at least 4oz to qualify for your passport sticker!

As all of my products, I have created these roving braids from the raw fleece by hand, meaning I bought a fleece here in the US, washed it, picked it and carded it. You can certainly not say there is a lack of passion in my products for you!

One of the pictures above also shows the fleece itself and if you are curious about the sheep, her shepherd gave me a picture to use in the product listing.

Happy April!

I hope you have been able to start the month without falling victim to too many jokes and pranks. Personally I only fell for one — by my husband and our dear dog Hestia (yes, she helped him and I can’t even be mad because she was a good girl and did exactly as he had told her).

But back to fibery things!

Today I have both a new yarn and also some fibers for you. As always I started with the raw fleece and then washed, combed, spun and dyed everything myself.

Let’s start with the yarn Sunset Sky!
All the pretty colors in the evening sky are what inspired me to dye this colorway. Blue, orange, pink — this yarn has it all and in so many different tones and shades. It is a joyful burst of color for all those spring days that might be too rainy to truly enjoy time outdoors.

Here are the details of the yarn:
– 277m (303 yards)
– 120g (4.2oz)
– Weight: Sport (17 WPI), category 2 (fine)
– 100% wool (Corriedale)
– $37.50 per skein

Unlike the new yarn, the new fiber braid is carded (but both are made from the same fleece). It is the result of using a dye bath that didn’t exhaust completely and such a lovely salmon color! It is every so slightly textured, meaning it will give your yarn some extra character, without drifting off too far into the art yarn area (though you can of course still use it to make art yarn as well).

Here are the details of Salmon:
– 55g (1.9oz)
– 100% wool (Corriedale)
– $10 per braid

You can find both Sunset Sky and Salmon on my website.

And if you want to be among the first to get notified about new updates AND receive exclusive discounts (including free shipping), consider becoming a fiber pack member by subscribing to my (free) monthly newsletter here.

Enjoy your crafts!

Happy March!

For this month’s update I am happy to be able to present two new yarns to you:
“Purple Clouds” and “Bonfire in a Spring Garden”

As always, I started with the raw fleece and then washed, combed, spun and dyed everything myself.

Let’s start with “Bonfire in a Spring Garden!”

I created this because I am really getting into a spring mood recently. Unfortunately,  all those pretty spring flowers are not up yet, so I decided to create a yarn inspired by their beauty instead.

Here are the details of the set:
– main skein: 255m (278 yards) and 100g (3.5 oz); mini skein: 48m (52 yards) and 17g (0.6 oz)
– Weight: Sport (17 WPI), category 2 (fine)
– 100% wool (Corriedale)
– $35 per set

The second yarn is “Purple Stars” and part of a bigger collection. Slowly working on the rainbow!

Here are the details of “Purple Stars”:
– 276m (301 yards)
– 110g (3.8oz)
– Weight: Sport (16 WPI), category 2 (fine)
– 100% wool (Corriedale)
– $35 per skein

You can find both “Purple Stars” and “Bonfire in a Spring Garden” on my website.

And if you want to be among the first to get notified about new updates AND receive exclusive discounts (including free shipping), consider becoming a fiber pack member by subscribing to my monthly newsletter here.

I don’t know about everyone else, but as soon as March hits I am ALL about color in my life. I’m tired of winter drab grays and browns, it’s time for a color explosion!

Introducing our new Summer Lovin’ Collection! A trio of color that promises to chase away all your winter blues!

The Summer Lovin’ collection can be purchased as a set or individually and is available across multiple bases.

If you love color, but are looking for something a little more subtle, we have ten new color ways that were released in our shop this week, across multiple bases — rest assured there is something for everyone!

We still have a few openings left for our Summer Knitting Box, which is inspired by geodes and gemstones, and is definitely a box you won’t want to miss! Modeled on our Christmas advent box, our Summer Knitting Kit comes with 24 mini skeins in either our Basic Sock or MCN Sock bases, as well as a coordinating full size 100g skein, and several small goodies! We’ve put a LOT of effort into these boxes and I can promise you, you won’t want to miss them! When they’re gone, they’re gone, so grab them while you can!

Lastly, we currently have a sale across much of our shop, which runs from 3/1 to 3/31 — save 10% off! Woohoo!!

Hello everyone!

Cashmere & Coconuts is thrilled to announce we have just released several new and exciting products!

After the incredible success of our Holiday Advent Set, based on the Great British Baking Show, we have put together our very first Summer Knitting Box! Just like our Advent set, our Summer Box comes with 24 20g mini skeins, one full size 100g skein, each based on our summer theme of geodes, crystals and agates, as well as 1-2 small themed gifts. Each skein is on our 75/25 Sock base, which is an incredibly soft and yet durable Merino/nylon base. You also have the option to upgrade your box to either our MCN Sock base, or if you really want to capture that sparkle found in so many geodes and crystals, our Sparkle Sock base! No matter which base you choose, we promise you won’t be disappointed!

We also have launched our brand new Monthly Fiber Box, which will be based on a different theme each month. Orders are accepted until the 10th of each month, or until all spots are filled. Space is very limited, so make sure to grab your Fiber Box while you can!

We are pleased to announce that we have launched two new shawl kits, with patterns by the incredibly talented Ambah O’Brian! Her Lilli Pilli shawl is a particular favorite of ours, and you can choose between a variety of color ways to customize your perfect shawl!

Last, but certainly not least, our widely popular Outlander Sock Box is restarting again! For those who love the beauty of Scotland, Jamie Fraser’s accent (and kilt! Ahem!) and love to watch as Claire gets herself into one scrap after another, this box is for you! Each month you’ll receive one full size 100g skein, two coordinating mini skeins, and several small goodies that any Outlander fan would love to have! (Skeins shown in photo are examples of previous Outlander boxes, however this is a Mystery Box). All Outlander skeins stay exclusive to our Outlander Sock Box for a minimum of six months and will not be released before then.

One more nugget of awesomeness for you all! Cashmere & Coconuts is offering an exclusive discount only for Indie Untanged members! Use discount code INDIEUNTANGLED14 to save 14% off your orders from now until Valentines Day!

More to come next week!

Happy February!

In this month’s update at Fiberdog Fibers (coming to you on Friday, February 4th 2022 at 12 a.m. Eastern) I am very pleased to introduce two new yarn colorways: Red Stars and Orange Stars. They are both made from the same Corriedale fleece that I washed, combed, spun and dyed myself. One of the pictures shows the various steps the wool went through in my hands.

Here are the details of the yarn:

– 270 – 290m (295 – 317 yards)
– 105g (3.7oz)
– Weight: Sport (17 WPI), category 2 (light)
– 100% wool (Corriedale)
– $35 per skein

In addition to these two exciting new colorways, I’ve also restocked some fiber for spinning: Purple Clouds is back! It is made from the same fleece as the yarn above, but has been carded, not combed and blended with a bit of rayon (bamboo).

Enjoy your crafts!

Happy first Friday of the year!

I hope you had a lovely first week and already got to plan or even start a new crafting project!

Personally I am working on a wonderful Corriedale fleece that I wash, pick, comb/card, dye and spin for the shop (I sell hand-dyed and handspun yarns as well as hand-dyed fibers).

I started the new year in the spirit of “out with the old, in with the new!”

This means there is a clearance sale going on at Fiberdog Fibers. I have a special clearance section that will take you to all the products that are currently on sale. It is a LOT of them, so make sure to check it out!

For the new part, I’ve just added new fibers for spinning to the shop. They are called Purple Clouds and you can see them in the picture. They are a wool (Corriedale)/bamboo blend and so soft. I basically want to pet them every time I walk past them.

All my products are made with love by me for you, my fellow fiber crafty people.

Enjoy your crafts!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope all of you got to spend some wonderful time with your most loved people/animals.

I am very thankful for so many things in my life. One of them is being able to have my very own fiber craft business with Fiberdog Fibers.
Of course this wouldn’t be possible without wonderful supportive crafty people like you and so I decided to express my thanks with a sale:

Through this coming Sunday, everything on my website is 10% off. You don’t need any code or special secrets. Simply shop and the discount will be applied on checkout.

The pictures added to this post feature this month’s new additions to the shop. You can find them easily under the new/back section on my website.

As always, I work from the raw fleece and all my yarns and fibers have been washed, picked, carded, dyed and spun (only the yarn obviously 😉 ) by me personally. By doing this I hope to bring a little bit of my passion and joy for anything fiber related into your crafty life.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend,
Nat
