Though a bigger venue means more space for new vendors, based on the number of applications received last year, there will unfortunately not be enough room for everyone who applies to the Indie Untangled Rhinebeck Trunk Show. While it is hard to say exactly what goes into the decision on who to select, here is some guidance on what we are looking for:
• Yarn and fiber: Most trunk show attendees are shopping for high-quality yarn, along with spinning fiber and unique knitting-related gifts. The majority of vendors we select sell yarn. And while we love seeing the work of designers, those who apply in collaboration with a dyer or dyers, or who sell kits with indie yarn, are more likely to be accepted. If you are planning a collaboration, please make sure the details are worked out before you apply.
• Presentation, visibility and uniqueness: We are looking for vendors with high-quality photos of their products available online, who are active on social media and who have a growing base of loyal customers, with products and branding that stands out.
• Event experience: We want vendors to have some experience selling at busy events and/or creating enough stock for a seven-hour show.
