For the latest installment of Knitting Our National Parks, Dami of Magpie Fibers took advantage of photographer Max Lau and his girlfriend Ashley Farlow’s willingness to wake up at 4:30 a.m. to capture sunrise over Swiftcurrent Lake and Grinnell Point at Glacier National Park. It was a fitting choice considering we’ll both be visiting Glacier later this month during the Montana Mountain Retreat that Candice of The Farmer’s Daughter Fibers is organizing (though I’m not sure how early I can get up after evenings of hanging out and knitting!). You can preorder Dami’s colorway on her Swanky Sock and Swanky DK MCN bases here through June 23.

While I was at Yellowstone, I had a ton of fun snapping shots of this new Knitting Our National Parks “backpack,” which debuts online today and in person at the Montana Mountain retreat. It was designed by Shelli Can and printed on a roomy 16″ wide by 19″ high EnviroTote canvas tote. This is the same bag Shelli designed for Rhinebeck, and I can attest to the fact that it is the perfect shopping tote. It also has an inner pocket so the bag’s contents won’t snag on enamel pins. And speaking of enamel pins, there’s s’more of those in the Indie Untangled shop

Indie Untangled newcomer Rachel of Dyeabolical has a shop stocked with color. In-stock colorways are dyed on Lovely Sock, a 75/25 blend of Superwash Merino and nylon. The colorways Very Starry and Thunderboom (pictured), plus six coordinating semisolids and tonals, are available as preorders — for a variegated yarn, a self-striping yarn or a fade set — that close June 9.
