Step into an ancient realm of Beauty and Wonder.
Before Frodo and Gandalf, before Sauron and Galadriel, Yavanna Kementari planted the fields and forests of Middle-earth. This J.R.R. Tolkien character is the “lover of all things that grow in the earth… from the trees like towers in forests long ago to the moss upon stones or the small and secret things in the mould.”
Join me for a six-week knit-a-long as we knit the elegant Kementari Stole. Together, we’ll explore the vast forests and fertile plains of Middle-earth, not as we know them during the events of the Lord of the Rings, but in a time so long ago it cannot be measured in years.
The KAL will run over the course of six weeks and will take place through email, on Zoom, and in the Refracted Light Fiber Arts Ravelry Group.
Each week will kick off with an email that contains a link to a group Zoom call where we can get to know our fellow travelers, get oriented to that week’s project goal, and experience the wonder of Middle-earth with readings from The Silmarillion. We can then stay connected throughout the week in the Ravelry group where we can continue chatting about our projects and generally stay up to date.
Throughout the KAL, you will be expertly guided through both the beauty of Middle-earth and the joy of knitting a beautiful stole.
Along the way, there will be opportunities to win one of many lovely prizes, contributed from yours truly as well as a variety of talented designers and artists.
