The beads looked different in the morning. Last night they had shimmered under neon lights on Bourbon Street, flashing purple, green, and gold beneath balconies that trembled with music. Now they lay tangled in the gutters, dulled by gray daylight, stuck to spilled beer and something that might once have been glitter. It’s the days after Mardi Gras, or what the locals called Dirty Mardi Gras.
Dirty Mardi Gras features dark teals and deep black mingled with subtle touches of purple, green, and yellow, creating a colorway that captures a brooding and dramatic mood. I’ve dyed this colorway on my standard fingering and worsted weight bases, along with a sock set and minis in fingering and worsted. Limited quantities available until I sell out.
