We will visit yarn stores, experience the Danish knitwear, and get inspired to create something cozy. December is the perfect time to visit the magical Christmas Markets of Copenhagen, where the city is transformed into a winter wonderland with twinkling lights, festive music, and decorated trees, while sipping mulled wine and shopping for unique gifts for the holidays. We will explore the cultural scene with museums, architecture, and go on a boat canal ride (don’t worry, it’s heated). Come explore Italy with us for an eight-day Umbria treasures tour! Often called Italy’s green heart, Umbria borders Tuscany and is known for its medieval hill towns and spectacular scenery.

Visit the ancient city of Perugia and the Renaissance capital of Florence, with day trips to Assisi, Gubbio, and Torgiano from October 25-November 2, 2025. Tour guide Lynn Ruggieri is a dual citizen of Rhode Island and Perugia, Italy where she resides part time. Marny Kindness, a knitting instructor and knitwear designer, also resides in Rhode Island. You will enjoy wine tasting and a tour of a family-owned vineyard, and view spectacular cathedrals, architecture, art, shopping, incredible food, and culture. Come explore England and Scotland with Lynn Ruggieri and Marny Kindness of Explore Knitting Tours for a 7-day Castles, Culture and Yarn Tour from March 7-15, 2025.

We will start in London visiting Windsor Castle, British Museum, private English tea bus, Covent Garden, Camden passage, with shopping at Loop London, Liberty London and more. Options to explore Westminster Abbey, Tower Bridge, Big Ben, Buckingham Palace and nightlife of London.

We will spend a day enjoying spectacular views of rolling hills and sheep as we travel to Stonehenge and the English countryside. See the ancient mystery of Stonehenge before we travel the scenic landscape to Bath the home of Jane Austin, picturesque streets and honey-colored buildings.

Our adventure then takes us to Nottingham to stay in a cottage overnight and get a private tour of the Knitters Museum. We then venture to Scotland where we will stay in Edinburgh, and visit the Edinburgh Castle, Scottish Textile Showcase, Dovecot Studio and more. We will visit St. Andrews for castles, wool shopping, and visit Stirling for a Radical Weavers tartan workshop. We have fun private yarn shopping events planned as well.

Classes are modified to accommodate all levels of knitting. Non knitters also welcome! We will have delicious plated dinners, a cast-on party, and a fun social knit night. Staying at the Salem Waterfront Hotel in luxurious and comfortable accommodations, we will be very close/walkable to the downtown and attractions. We will visit Circle of Stitches, an independently-owned yarn shop in the heart of Salem.

Knitting classes include getting a jump start on your holiday gifts with hand-knit mug cozies, coasters, intarsia ornaments and more. Classes are modified to accommodate all levels of knitting.
