A beautiful shawl starts with a beautiful yarn! Amonite is the result of an exciting collaboration with Great Southern Yarn. When Jennifer and Andrew approached me and asked me to design a shawl for them, I did not hesitate!
I could not wait to start working with their hand-dyed, sustainable, ethically produced, 100% Australian yarn. Picking the weight to work with was easy, picking the colorways was hard as all their hand-dyed colorways are so beautiful!
While waiting for the yarns to arrive, I started sketching ideas for the shawl. As is often the case for me, the ocean found its way into the design, in the form of the beautiful ancient sea creatures!
Amonite has an organic, fluid, and engaging construction while remaining a relaxed knit. Knitting Amonite is a pleasure as the yarns are so soft and the colors so glorious.
