Journey to West Texas

I had the pleasure of calling San Angelo, Texas, my home for about a year. This small Texas city is steeped in rich history and a surprising art scene. While living there, I fell in love with mesquite artwork inlaid with turquoise. There is something magical about this combination.

This week, I want to introduce San Angelo. This gorgeous shawl was designed for the Mad Tosh Studio series, and it is one of my favorites. It features short row stripes that are a cross between tiger stripes and my favorite turquoise embedded in mesquite wood. Check out the Ravelry project pages to see some of the fun color combinations other knitters have discovered!

This fun triangular shawl is worked from the center out featuring short rows, wrapped stitches, and a fun mosaic colorwork motif.
