Knit Yourself a Smile in Record Time

  • A black hat with lighter smile stitches.

As I was knitting along on my Chain Link Hat this past weekend it suddenly occurred to me that I was making smiles all across my knitting. Seeing those happy smiles emerge while also watching my project grow so quickly made me so happy. In one afternoon I made myself an adorable, very warm hat! The pattern also includes a cowl, so I can use two skeins of my main color and one skein of contrast to get a matching set. You can also get a hat and opposite cowl from just two skeins if you swap your main color. It’s a fun pattern called Chain Link Hat and Cowl by Marin Melchior and it’s available on Ravelry.

I used the colors Dusk and Sunday Morning for my project, and Marin knit a set using Emerald and Washed Ashore. The webshop is loaded with several mix and match colorways that are perfect for mixing and matching. If you need help choosing a pair just drop me and email and I’ll be glad to share some suggestions.

Some of my favorite combinations are:
Dusk + Sunday Morning or Sassy Ballerina
Electric raspberry + Sunday Morning
Emerald or Dusk + Washed Ashore
Emerald + Sassy Ballerina

Have fun choosing your own favorite pair, and watching those smiles emerge.
Happy Making! XX, Heather Jane
