#LotsOfSocks Initiative

Lisa K. Ross, the talented designer behind Paper Daisy Creations, started the #LotsOfSocks Initiative last year in her Ravelry group as a way to raise funds and awareness for Down Syndrome. Over $21,000 was raised!

I’m proud to once again be a sponsor for this event and thrilled that Lisa has chosen to use our #LotsOfSocks Halfsies colorway for her soon-to-be-released featured design this year. See the second pic for a sneak peek! Blue and yellow are the Down Syndrome colors, which inspired our choice for the Halfsies sets. There are two 50g skeins in in each set, for a total of 100g/400yds.

Our #LotsOfSocks colorway is now available in the shop. We will be donating $3 from each set sold to National Down Syndrome Society. That amount will increase to $5 per set if/when 20 sets are sold! Donation will be made on March 21 and will be for all skeins sold through March 20, 2020.

If you’re not familiar with the program, here’s an glimpse at what Lisa has posted in her Ravelry group:

“Do you know about the #lotsofsocks initiative? Those with Down syndrome have a 3rd copy of chromosome 21, so on 3/21 (March 21) the world celebrates World Down Syndrome Day. The idea behind #lotsofsocks is that everyone wears two different colorful socks to highlight the uniqueness of these individuals and show their support for the Down syndrome community. This KAL was designed to create LOTS of socks that will also generate support and awareness for a great cause! Tag your Ravelry projects #lotsofsocksKAL.
