Meet the newest addition to my Merino, silk and yak-blend bases — Yakima DK! This 60% Merino, 20% silk and 20% yak has all the special qualities of my fingering and laceweight versions. It has fantastic drape and softness. The silken sheen with the added heathered effect from the silvery-brown yak fibers lends a luminescence that’s out of this world.
Yakima DK is the same construction as my Neptune and Triton bases, a nice plump round 4-ply, which lends to great stitch definition and body. This is the perfect base for a new favorite sweater or cozy shawl or cowl. Available in 18 colors, a combination of multis and coordinating solids.
