Showing Liverpool Yarns

July is turning into a busy month for Liverpool Yarns: we’ve just received boxes of skeins of our new colors and have been working hard to get them all on the website. Our soft, 100% Shetland yarn is available in a range of subtle natural greys and browns as well as vibrant and soft hues. The worsted-spun fingering-weight is perfect for sweaters and shawls (think colorwork and texture), and new designs and samples are on the needles in our workroom.

Visit our website to see all our yarns, kits and yarn packs; sign up for our newsletter to stay updated on fiber shows and the latest news; and stay cool! Thank you for supporting small, independent craft businesses.

Memorial Day was the unofficial start of summer (even though it felt more like early April here on the East Coast), and we’re celebrating by dropping all the prices on our yarns, kits and yarn packs!

Our 50-gram skeins of 100% Shetland Wool are now $10 each, and our 25-gram mini skeins are now $5 each. All our kits and yarn packs reflect this drop, so it’s the perfect time to select yarns for your next project!

New in our yarn pack collection is Isabell Kraemer’s Emsworth (pattern available on Ravelry). It’s a classic slipover with a cute lace/texture pattern panel in front and on the back, worked seamlessly from the top down. Like all of Isabell’s knitwear, the pattern is clearly written and comes in a wide range of sizes.

We’re offering yarn packs in a range of our natural colors for this wardrobe staple. We knit ours in Bramble, a rich, warm grey. Between the yarn, the pattern, and the design, it was a joy to knit (and even though we’ve just dipped our toes into summer, I can’t wait for fall to wear it!).

Our Lemoyne Cowl is a perennial favorite: light and delicate, it combines an easy lace pattern with Stockinette stripes, a solid section, and finishes with a four by four ribbing.

Worked in the round, this is close fitting with a nice drape and will shield your neck from early fall drafts.

We’ve been offering kits pairing our classic Gossamer off-white with our primary colors, and now we’ve added our original pairing of Fawn and Gossamer to the line up.

The kit includes a printed copy of the pattern and two skeins of our soft, Shetland Fingering.

To celebrate our new color combination and Mother’s Day, we're taking 15% off the kits: just enter the code LC15 at checkout. This offer is good from midnight Saturday, May 1 through end of day Tuesday, May 4.

March comes in with a sale! Our entire website is 20% off through March 14. Shop our 100% Shetland fingering yarns, check out our kits for shawls and accessories, browse our patterns and don’t forget a project bag! The discount is taken automatically at checkout and all U.S. orders over $75 ship free.

Sarah Thornton’s Vaunt Shawl in the Winter 2020 issue of Knitty grabbed our attention right away: we love how she used her hand spun with a commercial yarn for a stunning striped effect.

We’ve put together yarn packs for this shawl with our 100% Shetland wool. We chose a strong neutral as the background and trellis edging and all our bright primary colors in the stripes.

Each yarn pack has three 50-gram skeins of the background color (choose from Bark or Bramble) and five 12.5-gram skeins of the stripe colors.

In addition to the free pattern from Knitty, you’ll need: US size 3 (3.25 mm) circular needle, 32-40″ (or size to get gauge given in pattern; two removable stitch markers; yarn needle. Blocking wires are optional but recommended.

One of our favorite color combinations, yellow and gray (or “grellow” as we like to say), happens to be Pantone’s Colors of the Year. We’ve used both here in our Linglestown Shawl (shown in our Fawn and Buttercup).

The asymmetrical shawl combines garter stitch, stripes, ribbing and the traditional Shetland lace pattern, Crown of Glory. It’s available on our website as a PDF pattern or a kit. The kit includes two skeins of Liverpool Fingering yarn and a printed copy of the pattern. You can choose from the color combinations we’ve put together or pick your own.

Our 100% Shetland yarns are in mini skeins! The same natural and clear primaries that you’ve loved in our 50 gram skeins are now available in 25-gram/90-yard skeins. They’re perfect for colorwork (think yoked sweaters, hats, mitts, stripes). We’re offering them in individual skeins and in sets of naturals and primaries.

All Liverpool Yarns are 100% Shetland wool, sourced in the UK and spun at a small mill in Pennsylvania. You can see the full range of yarns, colors, kits, patterns and swag on our website.
