Showing Sew Happy Jane

This week’s update is all about melty, soft luxury. From ethereal Magic Mohair to creamy Silky Cashmere; you won’t be able to resist treating yourself.

I’ve seen so many lovely mohair projects lately that my queue just keeps getting longer and longer. From floaty, light-as-air shawls to kitten-soft sweaters and hats, there is an endless array of choice. I’ve had fun dyeing loads of new colors to coordinate with my other bases. If you’re having trouble deciding let me know! I love to help with ordering.

Happy making, friends!

Dottie Jane is a beautiful, feminine shawl designed by Lesley Ann Robinson of Knitgraffiti. Lesley Ann is known for her drop dead gorgeous brioche patterns, and when she chose to work with my signature colorway Hattie Jane I was very touched. We talked a little bit about how my colorway was named after my grandmother Hattie Jane who had passed away long before I was ever born, and her grandmother Dottie who had recently passed. It was decided that both of our grandmothers would be a part of this design, and Dottie Jane was born.

This week I’m stocking the shop with two skein bundles perfect for knitting Dottie Jane or any two-skein shawl. And as a nod to the Walla Walla, WA, shop Purl2W2 KAL that this design was inspired and organized by, I’ll be donating $5 from the purchase of any two-skein bundle from April 11 to April 15 to my local YWCA. I appreciate the work they do to eliminate racism and empower women in communities across the nation.

Lesley Ann knit her shawl using Hattie Jane, and my shawl sample was knit was Whiz Bang and Teal-E-O. I also have several other bundles in the shop for you to choose from.

Happy Spring! This shawl is perfect for a little dose of happy to brighten your knitting basket.

Visit Sew Happy Jane for all kinds of lovely updates this weekend! Here’s some of what you’ll find in the webshop right now:

~ Magical Mohair in five delicious shades (ideal for pairing with my most popular signature colorways)
~ Buttery Soft, Silky Cashmere (perfect for spring/summer tees and wraps)
~ Loads of Delightful DK! (Do you have your eye on the new Soldotna Crop by Boyland Knitworks? I’ve got some beautiful pairings for you to consider.)
~ Mini Skeins! (If you’re like me and you have bottomless love for the Mini Skeins, there is a fresh crop ready and waiting for you.)
~ Several new spring colorways in fresh and vibrant shades to help encourage the weather to send in the sun.

My friend Kelly Sandusky of Aspen Knits knows how to make Sassy Ballerina and Honey Mead shine. I recently requested that she work her magic on two of my favorite colorways, and she delivered the Pinnacle Shawl. Pinnacle is a beautiful two-skein DK-weight shawl with texture and cozy factor galore. The variety of stitch patterns in each section will keep you entertained, and the squishy Delightful DK yarn will make this project fly off the needles. In no time you’ll be snuggled up in “hand-dyed happy.”

I’ve updated my webshop with kits that make shopping easy as pie. Choose from my favorite pairings, or check out my selection of Delightful DK and make your own pairing.

Happy 2019!

I don’t know about you, but I love an excuse to clear the decks and start fresh. I always feel a renewed sense of creativity and energy in January and it seems to be the perfect time to infuse my world with new ideas. This year I’m spicing things up by adding a few new bases to my line up, and I’m starting with Springy Sport.

This 3ply base is round and delicious. It has lovely stitch definition, and takes dye like a dream. I’m excited to use Springy Sport for shawls and lighter weight sweaters that knit up a little faster than fingering weight, but offer a light weight fabric perfect for transitioning from winter into warmer temps, which I just know are coming soon.

I currently have a (rare) dyed to order listing open with so many beautiful color choices on not only my sport weight base, but also fingering and DK! Choose from your favorite Hand Dyed Happy colorways with this limited time offering. Minimum of 3 skeins required for Dyed to order.

Even better: Use coupon code for 10% off orders over $100. Use Code: OVER100
