We have made the difficult decision to cancel our attendance at the Carolina FiberFest in Raleigh, NC this weekend. With several active cases in town, which led to multiple school and university closures, we decided not to travel and thus hopefully help to slow down the spread of the coronavirus. Introducing our Malian-inspired new yarn series: These yarns feature color changes as well as partial striping.
This series was inspired by the Malian Bogolan (“mud cloth”) textile dying technique that uses fermented mud from the Niger River. To simulate the look of the Malian textiles, our yarns feature light-colored stripes that add structure and emphasis to the color changes occurring in the background.
