Where We Knit Yarn Club – 2017

wwk-2017-collage

The second year of the Indie Untangled Where We Knit yarn club brings together four new indie dyer and designer teams from around the world. Each pair will create a colorway and an accompanying accessory pattern, drawing inspiration from various places where they whip out their works in progress. The club will start in February 2017. Every three months, you will receive one skein of hand-dyed yarn in an exclusive colorway, a PDF pattern that will be exclusive for three months and a special handmade gift based on the theme of each installment.

Here are the teams for 2017 (each of their inspiration photos are shown in the image above, clockwise starting from the top left):

February
The Woolen Rabbit and Anne Hanson

Roses Are Red: Whenever Anne travels, she enjoys visiting botanic gardens, especially the one in Brooklyn, New York, where she lived for many years (and where I just moved!). Kim, who dyes from home in New Hampshire, is known for her rich, Valentine-y reds.

May
Eden Cottage Yarns and Mindy Wilkes

The Magic Hour: Both Victoria, based in the UK, and Mindy, who lives in Ohio, knit when it’s quiet — either early in the morning before everyone is awake, before the hustle and bustle of the day, or late at night, curled up with a blanket on the sofa, after everyone else has gone to bed.

August
Three Fates Yarns and MK Nance

Park Life: Nance took this gorgeous photo of a rhododendron in the park where she knits in Portland, Oregon, about 50 miles northeast of Stephania, who calls Salem home.

November
Spun Right Round and Casapinka

Winter Warmth: Bronwyn of Casapinka loves to knit inside on winter evenings, “when the sky is twilight blue and purple with warm lights glowing around me in my knitting room.” Both Bronwyn, who lives in Rhode Island, and Renee, based in upstate New York, enjoy knitting any time of year but they particularly enjoy the warm, cozy feeling of a wooly winter’s night.

Sign-ups will run through Dec. 26, 2016 for a limited number of spots. You can choose a one-time payment and receive a $20 discount off the entire club ($180 for U.S. shipping, $200 for Canada shipping or $228 for international shipping) or pay in quarterly installments ($50/month for U.S. shipping, $55/month for Canada shipping and $62/month for international shipping). There is even an option on each form to give a club subscription as a gift to your favorite knitter! Packages will ship out approximately the first week of each month.
