If you follow me on Instagram, then you may know that last month I published a post asking the community to share their most loved yarn. This is because what better time to talk about the yarn that we love than in February, right?
Well, you guys answered, and I’m so excited to share all the responses we received today! So, let’s dive in and talk about our favorite “fiber love” (or at least one of them)!
What’s Your Most-Loved Yarn?

Selfishly, my most loved yarn is my Stacking Dimes non-SW Merino/silk colourway.
The welding colour inspiration was a gift from my son, who then collaborated with me to turn it into a yarn colourway. I enjoyed sharing that creative process with him so much! Love this boy to the moon and back!

This is our most loved yarn —
A yarn that celebrates the beauty that comes from diversity.
Farm Friends has been our top-selling yarn since we opened in 2021. It is a gorgeous blend of gray that comes from every member of the Mitchell Family Flock. Cormos, both white and natural, which include shades of browns, Targhee, Gotland, Finn, and Tunis, with a few Leicester Long Wool sheep thrown in. It is the perfect example of how together we become better. Each sheep is celebrated for the beautiful qualities of who they are. Together they’re even better, creating a soft next-to-skin tweed. Sometimes we dye it using our exclusively plant-dyed process (because we love our Mama Earth), but it’s most popular just shining in the beauty of togetherness.

I found a new “most loved” at the 2024 Indie Untangled. Storyteller Stitchery Folklore. The event colorway was called Headless Horseman. It screamed to be a beautiful vest for my brother. It was great to work with, and the final project looks great!

With Mountain Meadow Wool mill basically in my backyard, spinning beautiful fleeces from local Wyoming-grown flocks, dying all their amazing colors, and having a wide selection of yarns, how can they not BE my favorite yarn? Their story is unique and beautiful, as they continue to grow, pivot to keep current, and educate about the wonders of wool!
The pics showcase yarns Green River, Saratoga, and my well-loved R&R hoodie (Tanis Lavallee) made with Laramie.

The Fibre Co Acadia is my most loved yarn! And I’m so sad they are going out of business, so trying to buy a lot that’s left!
It’s a gorgeous blend of 60/20/20 Merino/Alpaca/Silk. Soft, luscious, wonderful texture, lovely to knit with!
I made a Joji Locatelli Odyssey Shawl with it.
