Asylum Fibers is hosting a KAL/CAL in collaboration with Kristy Glass of Kristy Glass Knits and Michele Costa of Stitch and Hustle.
Kristy is best known for her “Tell me about your Rhinebeck Sweater” video, so it’s especially fitting that this knit and crochet along will culminate in a fun group photo at the New York Sheep and Wool Festival. If you can’t make it but would like to be included in Kristy’s video, you can send her a photo.
Michele designed two shawl patterns for this KAL/CAL. Unicorn Kounty is a knit pattern that’s simple enough for beginners, but allows a lot of room for interpretation for adventurous knitters. Unicorn County is the crocheted version and looks very similar. It’s extra special that both knitters and crocheters can participate in this together, and I’ve already seen quite a few double dippers! Both patterns are available on Ravelry.
The original kit for what I’ve been calling the “Unicorn Along” has colors curated by Kristy and adorable unicorn themed stitch markers as well as a limited edition project bag. There are just a few of these kits left from Stitch and Hustle.
For those looking to break the mold, I’ve put together some other color combos, using the same sparkle DK base as the original kit, and they will be available at 7 p.m. EST, Friday, August 24th.
If you can join us, share your progress using #kgkunicornalong!
P.S.: I can’t wait to see you at the Indie Untangled Trunk Show! Look forward to a very special pattern and kit collaboration with Lavendar Lune Yarn Co. and Mina Philipp, aka Knitting Expat on Youtube. There will be mohair involved!
