There are so many amazing things coming up that it’s difficult to know where to begin! It’s all good news though, and it all means plenty of projects to stitch, plenty of friends to be made, and loads of camaraderie along the way!
Our friend, Scottish knitwear designer Morven Gabriel, is always busily creating gorgeous new patterns and we were chuffed that she was inspired to use our yarn to create one of her latest! Her brand new pattern, A Highland Kirk Window Beanie and Cowl, was inspired by the windows found in some of the churches in Scotland. Our variegated Into the Highlands simulates stained glass while Pomp & Circumstance provides the structure of the window design. Kits come with one hank of each of these colorways, enough to knit the beanie in the pattern. Want to knit up the cowl or both the beanie and cowl? We’ve got you covered with an option to add another hank of Pomp & Circumstance as a preorder. We’re also including a code in your kit so you can download the pattern easily and at no additional cost! The pattern is expected to be released this weekend on Ravelry, so you are really getting the latest and greatest!
Another designer we know well is Casapinka and you may have seen that she’s releasing her brand new 22 Cowl pattern soon! Kits are going fast in the shop and we love that you love all the fun and colorful combos we’ve put together. As of this writing, the pattern is 22% off for a limited time and the designer is holding a KAL over on her Ravelry page. We’d love you to use our yarn and be sure to use #oliventwoeweprojects wherever you post your progress pics to be entered to win our monthly giveaway. The kits were selling so fast, we’ve added additional combinations, so be sure to check out the listing again. We’d love to see what you choose!
Socktober is just around the corner in the Yarny Ewes and we’ve got big plans! From special sock kits coming soon to some free, interactive downloads and trivia, there’s something for everyone — even brand new sock-curious stitchers! Stay tuned for more details coming soon on this fun, month long event. Right now, to get ready, you can email Maria to let her know you’re IN for the Socktober Swap! Details are available now in the Yarny Ewes and down below, but today is the last day to register. We’re planning to pair up newbie sock knitters with more experienced ones for some light mentoring, but never fear, it’ll stay fun and light without a lot of time commitment.
Also on tap soon is #NaCroKniSweMo! This is our annual event that runs alongside the popular #NaKniSweMo event that’s popular on social media. The idea is to stitch up an entire sweater in the month of November. But well, we have our own special take on it by including crocheters and this year, one of our suggested patterns means we’re doing our Nomadic Knits KAL at the same time! Kits are available now in some pretty amazing combos so you can choose and we can get to dyeing them up as soon as possible. Read down for more information and then be sure to click through to our website for the fine details. Be sure to download our brand new #NaCroKniSweMo Coloring Page (it’s FREE) to have a little fun planning color combos!
Now is the perfect time of year for Cranky Sock Kits! These kits come complete with a hand cranked sock tube, coordinating mini and link to download directions for how to magically transform the tube into a great pair of socks! Super fast socks mean super fast gifts and you can never have too many of those on hand. Check out the variety of colorways on our website and order your faves now!
To get in on all the fun, be sure to join our Yarny Ewes Facebook group and watch our weekly podcast over on YouTube. We can’t wait to see you!
