Showing Shel Designs by Shellie Anderson

Irrigon is created in the pure luxury of June Cashmere’s Fingering yarn. Irrigon is a three-color sleeveless pullover that has the feel of a poncho but is worn more like a sweater. The upper body is worked in one color, while the vented lower body, with a high-low hem, uses different colors on the front and back. The sweater features an easy-to-memorize vertical lace pattern.

Irrigon can be worn layered as shown or on its own and can be worn multiple seasons and in many climates. Wear it casually or dress it up.

Have fun choosing your three colors from the gorgeous selection June Cashmere has to offer. Be sure to check out their website for Irrigon kits.

As a knitwear designer, ideas for new designs come from all around me. It’s an added bonus when one idea leads to another, and another… This idea started with a straight scarf, working a slipped stitch broken rib on the diagonal, surrounded by I-Cord edges. As the scarf got longer, I wondered what would happen if I changed the direction of my knitting, creating a V-shaped scarf. As luck would have it, the idea worked and LA GRAND was the result. Then I wondered what would happen if I went with a larger gauge and changed the dimensions, making it wider and shorter, creating more of a wrap. ZENA is the result of that idea.

Both pieces can be worn in multiple ways. LA GRAND is created with three colors of Lamb Good Fibers Lamb Good Sport and one color (two skeins) of Spincycle Dyed in the Wool. ZENA is created with Sonder Yarn Co.’s Lux and Halo held together. I’m currently working on a hat pattern using the remaining yarn from ZENA that will coordinate with this piece.

These were really fun designs to create and the stitch pattern is quite addictive.
