Lately, it’s been all about the llama drama around here. I discovered this gorgeous fabric months ago and have been saving it for just the right moment to turn it into a fresh batch of project bags. Winter Llama Drama features the sweetest llamas bundled up in bright magenta scarves against a rich blue background.

My bestselling medium zipper wedge project bag is the star of this release. It’s perfectly sized for a three‑ to four‑skein knitting or crochet project and includes a secure zipper closure plus a removable fabric wrist strap. Every bag is carefully sewn by me in my home‑based studio in New Orleans, Louisiana.

For those who love coordinating their project bag with their knitting or crochet, I’ve got you covered. I dyed up a vividly variegated yarn on my standard fingering‑weight base, a durable blend of 70% Superwash Merino wool and 30% nylon that’s perfect for socks. Hat and mitt makers will be happy to know this colorway is also available on my ultra‑soft Superwash worsted‑weight base, and it feels as good as it looks. I’ve even added a few fingering‑weight mini sets to the mix.

The beads looked different in the morning. Last night they had shimmered under neon lights on Bourbon Street, flashing purple, green, and gold beneath balconies that trembled with music. Now they lay tangled in the gutters, dulled by gray daylight, stuck to spilled beer and something that might once have been glitter. It’s the days after Mardi Gras, or what the locals called Dirty Mardi Gras.

Dirty Mardi Gras features dark teals and deep black mingled with subtle touches of purple, green, and yellow, creating a colorway that captures a brooding and dramatic mood. I’ve dyed this colorway on my standard fingering and worsted weight bases, along with a sock set and minis in fingering and worsted. Limited quantities available until I sell out.

This week, my studio is filled with love and inspiration. I’m excited to introduce the Hugs ‘n’ Kisses collection, featuring both project bags and hand-dyed yarns now available in the shop. The collection was inspired by a delightful fabric I discovered, Latte Love, perfect for anyone who shares my passion for lattes! You’ll find two bag styles crafted from this charming fabric: my small zipper clutch style project bag, ideal for carrying your smaller projects, and a handled drawstring project tote, designed for larger projects, especially those that require multiple balls of yarn.

Fresh from the dye room is Hugs ‘n’ Kisses, a vibrant and deep blend of pinks, red, magenta and black. Available in my standard fingering and DK bases

Surrounded by love and the aroma of lattes, I hope these new additions bring warmth and joy to your creative endeavors.

Laissez les bons temps rouler! Let the good times roll! That’s the spirit we celebrate in New Orleans, especially during Mardi Gras. While January often means packing away holiday decorations and enjoying a cozy winter, here it marks the start of Mardi Gras festivities. Every January 6th, King’s Day, locals eagerly wait in long lines for their first king cake of the season and transform their homes with vibrant Mardi Gras decorations. Although I wasn’t born in New Orleans, after 25 years I’ve fully embraced its festive traditions.

Each year, I create a special collection of Mardi Gras-themed project bags and hand-dyed yarns to honor this joyful season. Explore my full range of Mardi Gras-inspired items in my Etsy shop.
