What to stash this week: Winter lights

A wave of electric green light swirls in a blue sky above snow-covered mountains and spruce trees. Hand-dyed yarn in deep indigo, vibrant green and bright blue hues.

Here are some northern lights you don’t have to chase: Robyn of TeenyButton Studio has based this month’s Indie Untangled Knitting Our National Parks colorway on a photo of this glowing phenomenon over Denali National Park in Alaska (which definitely doesn’t have the light pollution of NYC!). Denali Borealis is available to preorder on two bases, Soft Sock, a 75/25 Merino/nylon blend and Soft DK, with 100% fine Superwash Merino.

Skeins of pea green, mushroom, orchid and deep moss green yarn on a wooden table.

Debbie of Murky Depths Dyeworks has restocked the custom-milled 2-ply Cormo sportweight yarnthat she debuted at Indie Untangled in October. It’s available on 14 hand-dyed colors plus an undyed version, perfect for sweaters and winter accessories.

Carolyn of Swan City Yarns has released her Fleece Your Feet sock pattern and it calls for holding two fingering-weight yarns together (or you can use a DK-weight yarn) for a quick and cozy project.

If you’re in or near Rhode Island, you can check out Upland Fiber Co.’s farm-to-skein yarns in person at Skein Yarn Shop in East Greenwich this weekend.

An abstract red, green and white painting with matching yarn. The text Georgia O'keeffe Yarn Club, December, Abstraction Green Line and Red Circle.

The last colorway in The Knitting Artist’s Georgia O’Keeffe Yarn Club is available to preorder. It’s fittingly inspired by one of the artist’s last paintings, a simple watercolor known as Abstraction Green Line and Red Circle.
