Give Back December PLUS 2 New Patterns

Hello! So much happening in this last month of 2021 I am excited to share with you! There is Give Back December and some new pattern launches. The new patterns first…

I would like to introduce you to two new colorwork patterns — a cowl and a pullover. Both are great for a beginner colorwork project but also exciting enough for the more experienced.

The Miss You More cowl is a fun and quick cowl project. If you’ve been along on this fiber journey with me for awhile you know I LOVE a cowl. It IS my favorite accessory besides a great bag! The colorwork pattern is very simple but has a complex look. Don’t be surprised if you end up memorizing it, making this a nice project to have with you at knit nights…also easy to set down and pick back up again. Knit in DK/sport weight – easily adapt the pattern to other bases using the guidelines in the pattern.

And I am so happy to share with you the next piece in the Hidden Falls Collection… a pullover! This new pullover makes me so happy — the neckline is one of my favorites, some simple colorwork give it a little edge, and the sleeves are a nice bracelet length and roomie for a casual fit. So many possibilities with this one!

The Hidden Falls Pullover is knit from the top down. The front and back collars are knit flat and joined. Short rows are used to shape the neckline. The yoke is worked in the round with raglan shaping, then the sleeve stitches are placed on hold while the lower body is worked, with a band of colorwork just above the ribbed hem. The sleeves are worked in the round down to the ribbed cuffs. Continuing to focus on size inclusivity, the Hidden Falls Pullover is graded to 11 sizes and intended to be worn with 4-6” /10-15 cm positive ease.

It is also time for Give Back December. Each year I select an organization to donate a portion of sales to from the month of December. For 2021, we selected Sisters United as the nonprofit to receive the Give Back December donation. Sisters United was founded in 2019 by fellow fiber artist Candice English and her company The Farmers Daughters Fibers. Sisters United helps create opportunities for Indigenous Women and Children, offers financial support in the ground work to find Missing Indigenous People, and funds essential programs to heal our Indigenous Communities and to keep them safe.

How do we give back??
With every purchase you made now thru December 31, 2021 from Milly’s Knit Designs, the following will be donated to Sisters United:
– 100% of net sales of Handknit Samples and Hardgoods in the Milly’s Knits Product Shop
– $2.00 of every PDF Milly’s Knit Designs pattern sold on MillysKnits.com and Ravelry

All items in the Product Shop are from small, women-owned businesses and Made in USA products… this includes some of my favorite candles, handmade stitch markers, and more.

Thank you SO much for your support and for supporting all of these women-owned businesses!
