Hello everyone!

With the wonderful reception of my March Madness Mini surprise set, I decided to create a summer surprise set: A Mini Summer Night's Dream! Come and join in the fun — this listing will be open for a short time and the sets will be made in a very limited number, so order early to avoid disappointment. Early in June, you will receive a set of 12 ethereal and dreamy mini skeins to open each day leading up to the solstice from June 9th-20th. If you like magical, summery, Shakespearian and speckly colors — than this set is for You! See the mood board for an idea of what colors I am dreaming up. These can be knit up as unwrapped each day or you can arrange and work them up after they are all revealed. It’s up to you! Each skein will be individually wrapped and numbered and there will, of course, be a few extra fun, dreamy and summery goodies tucked in here and there. You have your choice of 3 base yarns and the option to add a Dreamy Full Size skein in the same base.

I have been loving working on my Westknits Painting Honeycombs Shawl (using the minis from my March Madness set) – what a perfect pattern for all those fun little packets of color.

Speaking of mini skeins — I have about 100 colorways available made to order on 5 bases! Pop at Nothing and Sunny Side Up are a particularly striking combo for summer. I recently packed up an order of these minis and couldn't help but snap a photo when I saw them together. Another gorgeous combo one of my customers recently chose is Lobster Cream and Pop Cream (shown here with a Soak Wash single pack. I have been selling Soak wash in 3 sizes and in all of it's glorious scents in my shop since last summer).

The Full Moon for April was the Pink Moon and here is a photo of the Colorway from this year's Full Moon Yarn Series. May's Full Moon yarn will be opening soon! Sign up for my Newsletter or check my Instagram to get notified.

And finally, my 2021 Advent Calendars are still available for preorder – thank you to all who have purchased one! It seems early, but so much work goes into these that I will be happy to get started early this year!

Hello!
I hope you are all well and getting vaccinated soon (or already have done so!). I went this week for my first and almost can’t believe the prospect of going back to some kind of normalcy soon — hurray! It truly feels like a spring rebirth. I have a lot of new things to share, so read on, my friends…

First of all, the 2021 Advent calendar preorders opened up last week and they are selling like hot (pan)cakes 😂! So hop on over and reserve yours today! And for a limited time, U.S. shipping is free! Each day of December through Christmas, you will get to open a surprise mini skein of yarn. There will be 25 minis in total, along with some other fun holiday or fiber-related goodies added in here and there! This year, again, when you order early, you have your choice of five base yarns and we also have some fun optional add-ons: a special handmade project bag as well as a coordinating full-size skein in your chosen yarn base. You also have the option for a brand new Pancake and Lulu pin, designed especially for the calendar. This year, I created a mood board as a hint!

The 2021 Full Moon Surprise special yarn series continues! And this month the moon is PINK! Preorders for the April Pink Moon skein are now open and will close on Monday, April 11th at Midnight EDT. The skeins will be dyed and shipped out to be received* by the month’s full moon – for the Pink Moon, it is April 26th. This month I have also created a special stitch marker/progress keeper set to match! I found pink moon beads and couldn’t resist. I also have created a few other new marker sets, so click over and check them out!

Enjoy the beautiful weather and stay well, friends!

Happy March Everyone,
It has been a busy month here at Pancake and Lulu! Hope everyone's beginning to feel the freshness of Spring in the air (or Fall, if you are in the Southern Hemisphere)!

I just wanted to let pop in to let you know that I have a few new Spring 2021 Colorways. Shown here are Cactus Flower, Night Lilac, Lily of the Valley and Peonies & Blueberries. These speckled colorways coordinate beautifully with my semi-solid collection. They are all available to order on any of my many regular bases, including Suri Silk, Mohair, Lux DK and American Merino Roving.

I have also created a few yarn kits for the upcoming MKAL by Ambah O'Brien. These are available on several of my fingering bases, but hurry up if you would like to receive yours before the start date of April 4th! I still can't decide which I will choose for mine. 😆

I am in love with beautiful glass Czech beads! I have made several new stitch marker / progress keeper sets – check them out in my shop. The one shown here is called Cornflower.

Highlights coming up next month: Pre-orders for my 2021 Advent Calendar will be open as well as the April Full Moon Colorway.

Enjoy the beautiful change in season,

xx, Aimee

Hello Friends!

This month over here at Pancake and Lulu, I have been working on having regular mini shop updates along with the release of weekly episodes of my new YouTube podcast. The podcast is going great and I have just recorded Episode 5. Thank you to all who have subscribed, watched, liked and commented! I wasn’t sure if or what it would become when I sat down to record that first episode, but now I have come to look forward to the weekly routine and the connection with the knitting podcast community. So, if you haven’t already, please check it out and sign up for my newsletter for the updates!

Each week, I have been making sure I have some new yarns to list (as well as old favorites). Currently in my shop I have a new colorful primary speckle on white called FUNFETTI. Also just listed is DARK FAIRY, which was a happy accident that I have decided to keep around for a while. I also released a new colorway called RASPBERRY TRUFFLE, which was one of my recent PLYarn Club colors of the month. It was so pretty, I wanted to make it available to all.

In knitting news, I finished my Love Note Sweater in time for Valentine’s Day! I created a kit using my LOVE LETTER colorway paired with my BONE Suri Silk and these are also available in my shop. I also knit up the Every Bit Cowl by Telly Bean Knits in my CAPPUCCINO colorway and added a bobble bind-off. There is a mini tutorial on how to do the bind-off in my latest YouTube episode.

It’s hard to believe that winter is almost over – it has been so mild here in New Jersey – I am still holding out that there will be one more snow!

xx,
Aimee

Hello from Pancake and Lulu Yarn!

It has been a while since my last post. I hope you have all had a great start to 2020 and been well.

This Saturday, Feb. 1st, I will be doing a Trunk Show at Do Ewe Knit in Fanwood, N.J., from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. I will have lots of my yarn, pins, and other goodies, so please stop by and say hello if you are in the area.

I’ve been dyeing up some new colorways for Valentine’s Day and they are now in my shop, so please have a look. “Love Letter” is a speckled pinks and fuchsia available on several bases. I’m using this colorway held with my “Bone” Suriously Suri Silk base for a Love Note Sweater by Tin Can Knits – and I can’t put it down — it is such a fun knit! Message me if you would like me to make you a kit in these colors.

I jumped on the Slub trend with a new base called Slubbin It. I recently fell in love with this base while working on my Starflake Shawl by Stephen West. It is a great way to add texture and worked really well in this pattern as one of my yarns.

Also, I started a Pancake and Lulu Video Podcast – check it out over on my Youtube channel. You can hear all about what has been happening with me. I just got back from an amazing time at Vogue Knitting Live NYC! I talk about the classes I took and my weekend – it was awesome! It is my first time doing anything like that (so it is a little wonky????) but it was fun and I plan to continue. So grab your fiber project and beverage of choice and please check it out!

xx Aimee

Hello and Happy End of Summer! I took a long vacay this summer up to my lake cabin in the beautiful Adirondacks – it was so peaceful. And it was a big adjustment back to dyeing and business. But I am super excited to be back — it was such a long break that I actually missed my business — but that is because I love what I do!

I did do some work while on vacation — I created a whole new website for Pancake and Lulu! I learned a ton and am so excited to introduce the new site this week. I know it is not perfect but it is live (I just had to go for it, despite my tendency toward striving for perfection — I’m a Virgo ????). Please go check out www.pancakeandlulu.com and let me know how you like it and if you have any suggestions to improve it or notice anything really wonky.

For my friends at Indie Untangled, I have a special offer: use the code INDIEFRIEND and get 20% off any orders placed through my new site. This offer is good through 9/2/19.

Since I have been back to work, I have created some gorgeous color collections for the end of summer and early fall. I am highlighting these here. These are made to order and available on any base — full and minis. Pictured are: Pop Leaves, Squirrel Jam and It’s Always Sunny.

During the summer, I had ample time to knit. My three big projects while on vacation were Drea Renee Knits’ Comfort Fade Cardi (just finished it but no FO pictures yet), Boyland Knitwork’s Sipila and Moon Sisters Shawl — both still in progress. Hopefully they will be done by Rhinebeck! I have a kit for the Moon Sisters Shawl available in my shop, available in both the original shades and my wild violet/lime version.

That’s about it for now. I’m super excited to be a vendor at The Indie Untangled Trunk Show this October and I am busily prepping for that — more on that next time.

Happy Fourth of July to all you guys in the US! ???????? To celebrate our Independence Day, I am hosting a contest over on Instagram and giving away a Skein of Choice from my shop (either made to order or ready to ship) to one lucky U.S. Winner!????

The winner can choose any one skein, any base, any color! Check it out and enter over on my Instagram page.

Contest ends on Sunday, July 7th, Midnight EST. Winner will be chosen by random generator and announced Monday! (Winner must have a U.S. address for shipping purposes for this giveaway).

Good Luck! ????????????????????

Happy June from Pancake and Lulu Yarn, aka PLY! I love changing seasons and for us here on this half of the planet, summer has just about arrived.

For me knitting is always in season, and with summer, I feel like a fresh start is in order, so I am in a casting-on frenzy at the moment. This is due to finishing three sweaters in the last week! Here I am showing off my Soldotna Crop. It seemed like this was literally a “must knit” this spring, didn’t it? I have had some requests for kits, so they are coming to my shop soon.

Another little finished object is my Tincture Hat. I knit this up in three days as part of Andrea Mowry’s Memorial Day Shift-Along Challenge. It was a lot of fun participating in this tradition for the first time and I am very pleased with this quick knit. I will soon be stocking kits for this project as well.

Check out the delightful Yellow Owl Stitch Markers and Abacus Bracelets available in my shop. The glass beads are adorable as well as functional and totally snag-free!

Jade is my favorite new semi-solid color in my shop, available on any of my 18 full skein or five mini bases and Merino fiber for spinning or felting. It is a cool and refreshing green and perfect for colorwork and would make a pretty summer tee.

I want to thank all of you who have signed up for my 2019 Advent Mini Calendars. I have been blown away by all the early sign ups. There are still some pre-order slots available in my shop!

New June projects for me include another Caitlin Hunter pattern, Sipila, shown here with Navy as the main color and a one-of-a-kind sparkly club colorway as the contrasting color — join my yarn club for these exclusives! Other cast-ons: a Cocoknits shell top called Gretel and the new Ochre Cardigan by Ambah O’Brien. Follow along on my Instagram for daily updates on my projects kits and yarns. Enjoy the new season of knitting!

Hi Everyone!

The 2019 PLYarn Mini Skein Advent Calendar is going to be awesome! Preorder now to receive by mid-November (with plenty of time to start opening December 1st). These are limited edition, so order now to be sure to get one — last year they sold out. I have been receiving requests to preorder, so here we go!

Each day of December until Christmas, you will get to open a surprise mini skein of yarn (with other adorable holiday or fiber-related goodies added in here and there)! Each day’s gift is individually wrapped — what could be more fun for a knitter or fiber crafter?!

I’m super excited about this year’s calendar because now you have your choice of five base yarns, including a DK option! This year we also have some new add-ons. There is a surprise special project bag for the 2019 Advent Calendar as well as the option to add a coordinating full size skein in your chosen yarn base.

The 2019 collection will be a surprise — a beautiful flow and fade of color consisting of speckles and semi-solids, which can be combined as they are unwrapped or used in a modular project or in many other ways (see the photos in the listing of my shawl from last year using all the 2018 skeins).

Order early before they sell out!

Hello from Pancake and Lulu Yarn, aka PLY! This month, I am so inspired by the color combinations my lovely customers have been ordering lately.

I’ve had a run on purples and pale pastels like the ones pictured here (Violet Icing, Limelight, Lobster Bisque). It makes me want to drop all my WIPs and cast on a new project! Sometimes it is hard to part with a package I am sending off. It seems ridiculous since so many of my yarns are repeatable, but the truth is, I get distracted by the next color combo or project and never use the inspiring combo I coveted. I recently created the multicolor speckle shown here, called Nubula, to knit up Stephen West’s Speckle and Pop Shawl. And I did stash one away for myself! More are in the shop.

I’m working away on the Roselle Tee KAL by Patty Lyons and I’m learning so much. I dyed two new bases and am holding them together for this project. The pink in the photo is a Merino cotton and the peach is a luxurious lace-weight sparkle alpaca silk Cashmere. I am loving these new bases and soon will offer them in a limited supply in my shop, so keep a lookout on my Instagram.

There are some new Lulu Batts in my shop — these batts are so much fun for spinning or felting. Each are made up of lots of different fibers with some sparkle stellina mixed in — super crazy and super gorgeous. Oh, and this weekend, I’m off to the Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival where my daughter and I are taking a Indigo Shibori Dye class together, so that will be so much fun. Maybe I will see you there!
