What to stash this week: The pinnacle of yarn

A dramatic view of Pinnacles National Park glows with warm orange rock formations under a pink sky. Below, hand-dyed yarn in earthy rusts, golds, and purples beautifully captures the colors and textures of the landscape.

Mel of Big Little Yarn Co. is finally joining the lineup for the Knitting Our National Parks project. I’ve been a fan of her incredible color sense for ages, so I’m especially excited to share this one. Mel’s colorway is inspired by Pinnacles National Park in California — a dramatic landscape of rock formations, quiet caves, and ancient oaks in one of the newest additions to the park system (est. 2013).

You can preorder it on Trusty Sock (75% Superwash Merino, 25% nylon), or Superwash Merino DK (100% Superwash Merino). Preorders are open through April 20, and yarn ships in late May. As always, 10% of sales will be split between the National Park Foundation and the Native American Rights Fund.
