Still a little sore over Firefly’s cancellation?

Very much still in love with the Crew and the best goram ship in the ‘verse?

Want something to knit/crochet whilst you relive the joy of the series and the film?

Join us for the inaugural yarn club and the shiny, shiny theme! Sign ups are open here.

Third Vault Yarns has launched a new Themed Quarterly Yarn Club, so you can get some squishy yarn inspired by your favourite fandoms and some fun themed goodies too!

Every quarter starts with voting on three themes; At the end of the month one theme is chosen based on your votes and then sign ups open. Throughout the second month you get some glorious teasers of what’s in the box, but most of it will stay a mystery until you receive your club box in the last month of the quarter.

So what are you waiting for? Either sign up for the Firefly themed first club box or join the yarn club mailing list for more voting power and first dibs on next quarter! The mailing list can be subscribed to on our Facebook page.

The tall, skinny cables in this matching hat and cowl resemble the crack in the wall through which star-crossed lovers Pyramus and Thisbe communicated. The length of the cowl provides warmth as well as a nice drape so it can be worn comfortably. The beret is knit from the top down in the round. The patterns are both fully written out and charted, so you can use whichever type of instruction works best for you.

It’s the middle of summer where I am and we’re currently in the grip of a heatwave, so I find myself reminiscing of winter and of cool weather. Of grey skies, of rain and of bundling up in knits instead of melting under them. I find myself recalling those long stretches, when winter gets endless with days upon days of grey skies and I need a pop of bright colour to cheer me up. I found these two skeins of The Verdant Gryphon Traveller in Painted Grasshawk in my stash and knew immediately they could cure all dreary ills. Not only that, but they needed to be a matching beanie and mittens.

Callistemon Beanie is knit in the round and begins with a 1×1 brim deep enough to fold up. The head is worked in the tiny bowknot pattern and the beanie is finished off with an optional pompom. Callistemon Mittens are fingerless mittens worked using the same pattern, but have two ‘finger cuff’ options. You can knit the finger portion with a short cuff, or a long cuff (pictured). The long cuff is deep enough to cover your fingers and can be folded back out of the way.

Both patterns are available on Ravelry for 20% off until midnight Wednesday, Feburary 17th 2016, AWST. No coupon code required.

Our popular “Summer Skies Rainbow Brite” is now available on DK 100% Merino yarn for self-striping hats, as well as on Platinum Sock and Sparkle Sock. It’s a delight watch the “clouds” emerge from the blue “sky” as you knit, and the rainbows are super vibrant! This yarn is very even, for beautifully neat stitches, and has a wonderfully soft smooth handle for really snuggly finished objects.

In honor of Valentine’s Day, I’m giving you a little treat: Any purchase from the Berry Colorful Yarnings shop, now through Feb. 14, will include the pattern of your choice from any of the Indie Untangled designers listed below. You could pair one of the gradient sock blanks or a skein of self-striping yarn with one of Lara Smoot’s sock patterns, a knit a gradient Holden from Mindy Wilkes, a gradient Eugene by Jennifer Dassau… the possibilities are endless.

As always, two or more skeins ship free in the U.S., and if you want to throw in a set of Buttonalia buttons or an in-stock yarn ball or Untangling project bag, any extra shipping will be refunded. *Limit one free pattern per customer. I will get in touch with you after you complete your order to find out which pattern you would like and to get your Ravelry ID.

Mothy and the Squid specialises in bright self-striping rainbows on a selection of premium sock weight yarn bases. Pictured is “Grey Skies Rainbow Brite,” which self stripes beautifully on socks of all sizes. This colourway is available on 75/25 Merino/nylon Platinum Sock and snuggly soft 100% Merino High Twist Sock. Variations on the theme include almost every background colour you could wish for — and if I don’t have it in stock I custom dye at no extra charge!

Now that January, the dreariest month of the year is finally behind us, it’s time to begin brightening things up a bit. New for February at Cedar Hill Farm Company are two-grommet, zippered project bags (7″ x 9″) that are totally perfect for carrying along your favorite small projects. These bags are especially great for anyone who is in love with Magic Loop knitting, two-color stranded knitting, or multi-color crocheting because the grommets allow you to keep your yarn cakes separate while your work and still allow you to tuck your project back into the bag for safe keeping. The grommets will accommodate up to a bulky weight yarn, but are still small enough that loose notions, stitch markers, and tapestry needles won’t escape. I like my bags, particularly, for sock and mitten knitting. If you are a one-at-a-time knitter or a crocheter, we also have single-grommet project bags for those take-along projects that will fit nicely into virtually any purse or bag. My personal favorite right now is the Glow-In-the-Dark Star Wars bags–Darth Vader actually glows in the dark, which gives a whole new dimension to movie knitting!

And speaking of knitting, don’t forget we’ve introduced a new label this year: Silk Sheep. Dyed in gorgeous jewel tones, this 50/50 pure silk/Merino is sure to be a favorite for Spring knitting, especially shawls and lace scarves.

Visit www.cedarhillyarns.com to check out all of our hand-sewn project bags and totes.

Add heart embellishments to your craft project! Choose from a vintage style polka dot heart or a lacey textured heart button. Add them to the cuffs of mittens, crazy quilt, mixed media work, the brim of a hat. Of course they can be used to button up a cardigan, but also try decorative buttons on a pocket, collar or cuff!

Use code INDIE and your order will ship free!
