Feeling Sweet

  • Skeins of pink and purple yarn.

We’re preparing for Valentine’s Day with a shop update full of gorgeous new colorways, and opening just 6 spots in our February Fiber Gallery Club which will be inspired by the very cupid-day colors of John Singer Sargent’s painting Mrs. Hugh Hammersly. If you love love, or if you just love gorgeous rich colors, you’ll want to snag some skeins for yourself. Who says your favorite Valentine can’t come from you? Yarn last so much longer than flowers or chocolates!

Sheep Loves Me, Sheep Loves Me Not

  • Flowers surround a banner reading Sheep loves me, sheep loves me not.

We have a fun countdown for Valentine’s available for preorder now, and speaking of preorders — there are five spaces left in our Sweater Quantity Discounts for January, so if you’d like more than three skeins of either Northland or Graphite, you can preorder them at a significantly reduced rate.

But back to Valentine’s — we’re celebrating with a mini-skein countdown for makers who love love… at its best and worst! Inspired by some of our favorite love songs and breakup anthems. Each will be individually labeled with the name of the song that inspired it, and individually packaged so you’ll have one gorgeous gift of yarn to open each night as we count down 14 days to Valentine’s 2021. This package does not include a pattern, but does include some truly delicious chocolate, good for whether you’re celebrating the joys of love or eating your feelings, or you just like pretty yarn and chocolate.

If you just need yarn NOW, the shop has been stocked with new pretties and old favorites on several of our most popular bases and we have a special coupon code just for Indie Untangled readers: use the code INDIEU10 when checking out for $10 off your purchase.

A Special Indie Discount

  • Skeins of orange, purple and white yarn.

We have a special discount for our Indie Untangled friends this month – just use the code INDIEU at checkout for 20% off your entire order through the end of November. This includes the best price you’ll see all year on annual club subscriptions for 2021. We just opened up a small number of spots for new members. We have two clubs coming in 2021. The Fiber Gallery: a monthly club based on the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC. Choose light, heavy or a mix of our bases, and subscribers can opt in for one or two skeins of yarn each month. Our other club is the Literature Society. A quarterly mailing of yarns and goodies inspired by classic literature. Each box comes with three skeins of yarn on our most luxurious bases, plenty of treats and fiber crafting swag, and a special members only zoom call where we can talk about yarn, books, projects and have a few demos and other fun stuff. This package is guaranteed to cause mail carrier stalking.

The shop has been updated with lost of gorgeous yarns ready to ship, and a few dyed to order options too. As always, if you see a colorway you love that’s out of stock, just send us a note and we can create a custom listing and add your request to our schedule.

Sweater Weather

We’re excited to welcome back sweater weather with our amazing Sweater Quantity Discount. Since this will be our last SQD shipment of 2020, we’re offering TWO colorways at close to wholesale pricing.

Introducing Ink: a gorgeous rich navy blue, and Sunflower: a sunny golden yellow. Both are stunning in stockinette, but they also won’t compete with complex cables or lace. They even look great together in colorwork. These are preorders and ship in about 4-6 weeks.

Every couple of months we do a preorder and dedicate an entire week of dye studio time to a single colorway. Setting up each colorway tends to be our most labor intensive practice, so this streamlines our prep and dye time which allows us to offer a great discount on several bases. It’s a fantastic way to stock up for your fall and holiday knitting. Spaces are limited based on our capacity, so as soon as we reach our limit of what we can manage the listing will close.

We’ve also updated the shop with plenty of ready-to-ship options in new colorways and old favorites.

Our Latest Sweater Quantity Discount is here!

  • Gray, purple and teal yarn with the words Sweater Quantity Discount.

We’ve just opened up signups for our July/August Sweater Quantity Discount colorway… Black Magic! It’s a gorgeous coal black with peeks of rich purples and teals. We are so excited to offer this option to make a hand-dyed garment more accessible no matter what size you are! Once every two months, we pick a fan favorite colorway and take pre-orders for quantities of three skeins or more. This allows us to spend a couple of days in the dye studio dedicated to one colorway, streamlining our process enough to offer a close to wholesale discount. We keep the listing open until we reach our capacity of what we can dye in a two days and they fill up quickly.

We also have eight spots left in our Halloween Advent – 13 Nights of Potions Class. 13 wicked minis to help you count down to Halloween!

The shop is stocked with lots of ready to ship lovelies too, including a variety of colorways on our newest base, Classic Merino Sport. It’s a springy soft 100% New Zealand Merino that is such a pleasure to work with.

Deep Sweater Quantity Discounts and Advent Signups

  • Blue and gray hand-dyed yarn and the words Sweater quantity discount.

Our lovely fans have chosen Rainy Days to be our May/June Sweater Quantity Discount colorway. This incredible discount is one of the ways we’re working to make our yarns more accessible to makers of every shape and size. Basically, it’s a crowd-funded almost wholesale discount for orders of three or more skeins with a huge variety of bases to choose from. One colorway, preordered by several people at once means we place a large order with our mills, and spend two days of our dyeing time on one colorway, which streamlines our usual small batch process. Signups are open now but will close as soon as we reach our two-day dyeing capacity. Last time it only took a couple of days! If you miss the sign-up window or Rainy Days isn’t for you, be sure to follow us on Instagram or subscribe to our newsletter to be the first to hear about (and help us choose) our next SQD colorway in July.

We also have a few spots open for our very first Advent Calendar, “Dreaming of a Classic Christmas” inspired by the Penguin Clothbound Classics collection. There’s even a monthly payment plan available for those who’d like to secure a spot, but spread the price out over a few months. It’s the perfect way to treat yourself or someone you love to a set of 24 minis and one full skein. Packages will ship out in mid-November so you’ll have it ready to begin on December 1st!

Spring Fling Giveaway and Sale

  • Skeins of yarn in pink, purple, gray and teal.
  • Purple, teal and gold yarn.

We’re having a spring cleaning sale and an awesome giveaway to go along with it! Prizes include a gorgeous circular needle wallet all the way from Argentina’s Joji & Co., a $100 shop credit, a $50 shop credit, and a stunning crochet hook from Furls along with some of our yarn so you can make something fun.

Stay tuned for information about the giveaway via Instagram. We’ll also have some discounted skeins and just listed our March/April Sweater Quantity discount skeins in our Triton color way. We realized a few months ago that we could crowd-source a close to wholesale discount if we offered one colorway at a time in sweater quantities. This way we place a bulk order from our suppliers, have a few major dye sessions dedicated to a single color, and we can offer a great discount that is perfect for sweaters and other larger garments. But spaces are limited so you’ll want to grab yours before they’re gone!

We’ll also have sign-ups open for our April Musee d’Orsay club, which will be inspired by a gorgeous Monet and include a truly decadent treat straight from France via our favorite local grocer/importer. (And yes, we definitely got some strange looks when everyone else was stocking up on TP for the apocalypse and we had a cart full of French chocolates. Priorities, am I right?)
