Showing McMullin Fiber Co

We are so grateful for the many customers who have become friends, who keep coming back for more yarny goodness, and making our fiber dreams come true! Thank you for supporting our family business! Not only are most items – including new releases – 30% off this weekend only, we’re also sending out a free enamel pin with every order over $25.

New releases include two limited-edition holiday collections. The “A Christmas Story” collection is kitchy vintage fun, with colorways like You’ll Shoot Your Eye Out, Major Award and Deranged Easter Bunny. The Carolina Christmas collection is a sophisticated grouping inspired by the glamour and elegance of celebrations at the Biltmore.

We hope you’ll snuggle up in your stretchy pants and join us!

It’s Socktoberfest time again with a special extension for Indie Untangled readers. We’re giving away some amazing prizes like a Fringe Towne Bag, a Chiaogoo Interchangeable Needle set and lot’s of shop gift certificates too! There will be seven names drawn for prizes. Each item purchased in our shop between now and November 3rd gets you an entry into the drawing. Plus the whole shop is on sale for 25% off! Just use the code: SOCKTOBERFEST2019 at checkout. We have plenty of pretties in all of our bases, including a few sweater quantities. It’s a great time to stock up for your holiday projects, your well deserved selfish projects, or swap giving.

Our newest yarn of the month club just opened up signups and is a part of our sale. Le Societe d’Orsay is a yarn club where each month’s color way will be inspired by art from the Musee D’Orsay in Paris. If you love the impressionists (Monet, Cezanne, Renoir, etc) or just love pretty yarn, this club is for you! You can choose if you’d like to receive heavier yarns or lighter ones and if you’d prefer a single or two skeins each month for larger projects. We’ll have some month to month subscriptions available with signups beginning the end of December, but the best deal out there is a pre-paid annual membership available now as part of our socktoberfest sale. Not only will you get 12 entries into the giveaway drawing, but at 25% off, you’re looking at a price of $22.50 per month for a single skein, a fiber related extra and a treat sent to your door every month. This will include a range of bases, including our most luxurious so it ends up being a pretty great way to treat yourself or someone you love all year!

We love this time of year, and it’s showing in our latest colorways! The shop is stocked with gorgeous rainy and floral colors on some of your favorite bases, plus a couple of limited-edition bases: Freckles, a Superwash Merino fingering with black tweed nepps, and SuperSilky, a 50/50 silk/Superwash Merino heavy fingering with the prettiest drape and shine, perfect for transition and summer shawls, sweaters, tees and tanks. We also have a gorgeous new colorway inspired by actress Molly Ringwald and all her amazing 80s heroines, comprised of soft peachy pinks and deep auburn oranges. It’s not part of a planned collection, but sometimes we make up colorways based on our Netflix binges — just because we can!

Plus, signups are now open for May’s installment of the Literature Society – the Count of Monte Cristo! Expect rich and mysterious colors on the yarn and buried treasure for your extra swag. You can opt for a light (light fingering-sport) or heavy (sport-bulky) base and upgrade to a double dose if you’d like an extra skein.

We’re also honoring the women you love this weekend on our Instagram with a giveaway, so be sure to stop by and give some love to the crafty ladies in your life!

Hooray for spring! It’s like sweater weather part two around here — you can finally ditch the heavy overcoat, but still wear your knits before it gets too hot. Plus, we have two exciting spring collaborations to let you know about…

First, Amanda of Little Bitty Delights has created a stunning progress keeper for our April Club, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. We still have a handful of spots available, but once they’re gone they are gone! You can choose whether you’d prefer heavier or lighter yarn and if you’d like a single or double dose. The colorway is a surprise, but you can expect spring speckles inspired by Alice’s amazing adventures.

Second, we’ve joined forces with GingerRoots Bags to create a gorgeous spring set: a full-sized skein of sock yarn, a 90-yard mini skein for a pop of color and a coordinating project bag all created to celebrate the excitement of the shift from gloom to BLOOM! We have a very limited number of sets available, so be sure to grab yours quickly.

Maybe it’s the recent constant drizzle we’ve had here in the Midwest, but something has us craving rainbows and bright cheery colors and our most recent dye session shows it! We’ve updated the shop with Rainbow Bright Minis which have a total yardage of just under 550. Perfect for color work, scrappy socks, scrappy shawls and blankets, or to have a collection of heel/toe pop colors handy for your next sock project.

We’ve also added our most recent Little Women-inspired colorway, Beth March. It’s inspired by soft pink kitten noses and hot house roses, with gentle speckles of Jo’s green and Marmee’s grey. We have a very limited number of skeins available. However, you’ll find plenty of bright color ways on fingering and bulky weights to help you limp through the deep winter months.

Signups for February’s installment of the McMullin Fiber Co. Literature Society are open! Recipients of this package are going to feel a bit like Harriet Smith because a genuine lady like Emma deserves a yarn that is ultra luxurious. And this month’s extra? Let’s just say if you love yarn you’re going to love this extra, which is basically everyone signing up, so I think you’re going to be thrilled. Join us as we bask in Emma’s glow and try not to get burned. Signups will close the February 5.

In other Lit Society news, we have skeins inspired by Meg and Jo March in the shop now, and the other March sisters will follow. Each of our next few shop updates will introduce a new sister, plus a skein inspired by Mrs. March (Marmee). Jo’s color way is a rich green inspired by long walks in the forest around her childhood home as her mind furiously works through a difficult bit of a story she’s writing. Deep and light forest greens plus hints of deep pinks and grays.

We also added a new collection to the shop this week – the Creative Retreat Collection, inspired by desert getaways for artists of all types. The mini set includes Denim, Aura, Potter’s Clay, Water’s Colors and Agave. There are full sized skeins of most colors available in the shop now. As much as we love the snow here in Ohio, we could go for a break around now so we’re using this as an excuse to imagine ourselves somewhere warmer this month!

Hello Friends! We’re hosting a winter make-along and giving away prizes! We’re pretty laid back over here so there aren’t a lot of rules. Basically to enter you can make a project using 50% or more McMullin Fiber Co. materials. Post about it on Instagram or Facebook with the hashtag #mfcMAL2019 and make sure the post is public. Every Monday through the end of February we’ll pick our favorite photo from the bunch and send the poster a free skein of yarn (your choice of any current stock under $30). The project doesn’t have to be finished by a certain deadline, it can be barely cast on. It can be something you started last year but you’re just finishing up. It can be something you’re making for another make along. So low key! (And we’ll highlight some of our favorite entries in our stories.)

To celebrate the beginning of Selfish Knitting season we’re having a great sale, so it’s the perfect time to pick out something for your make along cast on! Use the code TREATYOSELF for 25% off everything in the shop. Sale lasts till Thursday, January 24th.

We’ve been eagerly anticipating this month all year! It’s time for the Little Women installment of McMullin Fiber Co. Lit Society! Join us in celebrating the March family and their friends with an exclusive colorway inspired by the novel.

The included extras will make you feel like one of the March sisters the next time you sit down to finish off some knitting or other needlework. You can sign up for a Light or Heavy option and with a single or double dose of yarn in case you’d like to plan for a larger project. Spaces are limited and packages will ship out around December 17th.

It’s also the last month to sign up for an annual 2019 membership, which costs significantly less than paying month to month.

In addition, we’ve updated the shop with lots of favorite colorways so you can treat yourself to something for a post holiday selfish cast on!

Happy Holidays from the McMullin family, your support of our family business over the past year has meant the world to us.

We’re celebrating our gratitude for all of you who make our dream business come true every day with a Thanksgiving weekend sale. Now through Monday you can take 25% off any order over $50 in our shop with the code 25THANKS. We have lots of new colorways and will be updating the shop with a new mohair/silk base on Monday. (All orders from the weekend will ship together on Tuesday and we’ll refund any shipping overages if you decide to shop more than once!)

We’re also bringing back our much requested Fiber Balm. Made especially for fiber crafters, this lanolin based hand balm will treat your dry hands without making them too slippery, a problem we often encounter with lotions in the winter. Made from fiber friendly lanolin and essential oils, we’ll have a limited supply of cheery Lemon Verbena, holiday themed Spice and the lovely herbal Healing scents in stock. When we took an extended maternity leave a few years ago, this was the most requested item from customers who checked back often to see if we were up and running again! (We’ve changed the name from Get a Grip Knitter’s Balm to Fiber Balm to be a little more inclusive of our maker friends. We use it on dry heels too!)

Here at McMullin Fiber Co. we’re celebrating our favorite month with our annual Socktoberfest Celebration. We like to get into the spirit of the knitting season with a big sale and some fantastic giveaways. Here are the basics:

Everything in the shop is 25% off till October 31st. Every item purchased between now and midnight of the 31st means one entry into our mega-drawing. On November 1st we’ll pick six winners. In the order they’re drawn they get to choose the prize they covet most. Prizes are: A set of Lykke interchangeable needles (or crochet hooks if that’s your thing), a Plum waxed field bag from Fringe, a $100 shop credit, a $50 shop credit and two $25 shop credits.

It’s the perfect time to stock up for all your winter knitting projects. Full-sized skein sets like our new Ravenclaw inspired Fade count for as many entries as skeins in the set (five in this case), mini skein sets count as one. And best of all, our annual Literature Society signups are open as part of the sale and count as 12 entries into the drawing! We have a fun lineup planned for 2019 with Classics and modern favorites on the list.

If all you got from that whole spiel was “Ravenclaw,” here are the details on that set: Five colorways make up this fade inspired by the cleverest house in Hogwarts. Ink and Parchment, Perfect Grey, Wit Beyond Measure, Denim and Rowena.

We have full-sized sets and mini skein sets available so you can choose between crafting a large shawl or sweater, or a smaller project like socks or a hat. We know you’ll choose wisely.
