It’s about damn time, isn’t it? Our latest shop update includes our gorgeous new Sweater Weather Collection in both full sized Merino/Cashmere/nylon DK weight yarns and 80/20 Merino/nylon sock mini skeins. The shop is stocked with lots of fan favorites and a few new colorways:

Hunting Tartan is a mix of dramatic deep purples, greens and bronzey golds.
La Vie En Rose has soft rose, deep burgundy and golds.
Vintage is a silvery cream base with speckles of hot pink, deep oranges, aquas and browns and goes perfectly with the whole Sweater Weather collection.

Are you one of those special people who loves books and the fiber arts? Today we open sign ups for our Jane Eyre installment of McMullin Fiber Co. Literature Society. Each package will contain one skein of yarn and some extra goodies inspired by the novel. Unless you sign up for a double dose, then you’ll find two skeins in your package. If gothic romance isn’t your thing, next month we’ll be featuring Gone With the Wind and in December: Little Women. You choose if you’d prefer Light (light fingering to sport) or Heavy (sport to bulky) weight yarns, so no matter your project preference we’ll have you covered! Signing up for any month means access to our members-only page where you can pick up extra skeins of the previous month’s yarns before they’re available to anyone else, and special discounts on other literary themed yarns. Our favorite part of the club is listening to the audiobook while knitting with the colorway it inspired. Combining our two great loves!

Also new — we’ve received so many custom dye requests that we’ve added a Dye to Order section to our website for our most popular colorways. Ordering a sweater’s quantity or a single skein just got easier.

Temps aren’t really dropping yet, but everything in the fiber world needs to be anticipated early since creating a garment stitch by stitch tends to take a little longer. I have a feeling you may be Kindred Spirits, so I’d like to share with you a collection of colorways inspired by Anne and the places and people of Avonlea. They’re available for a limited time in the shop on our Squishy (SW Merino/nylon) sock base and our Sublime Worsted (100% SW Merino single-ply) base. Together all six on fingering weight would create an incredible Goldfish Memory Shawl by Casapinka, and on worsted they’d make a gorgeous striped sweater. We’ll also have mini-skein sets on our Squishy sock base, perfect for cheerful striped socks or pops of color in heels and toes or giant scrappy blankets.

This yarn club is based on some of our favorite classic novels, it will be all new colorways inspired by the books listed below. Memberships are available for 1, 3, 6, 9 and 12 months. The longer the membership you buy, the greater the savings. If you’d like 2 skeins of each colorway, pick “Double Dose” when you’re checking out. That gives you the same swag but double the yarn. Colorways will be exclusive to the club for at least 6 months, and if we’re inspired to cook up additional colorways inspired by the book members get first crack at them at a discounted price.

This season of the McMullin Fiber Co. Literary Society begins January 2018 and ends December 2018. Yarn will be mailed on or about the 15th of each month and members will receive lots of extra goodies over the course of the year, like stitch markers, project bags, knitting swag, etc. It’s like getting an amazing swap package in the mail without scrambling to put one together yourself! There will be a mix of our base yarns with tonal semi-solids, kettle-dyed yarns and lots of gorgeous speckles. You choose if you want light yarns (light fingering up to sport weight) or heavy yarns (sport weight up to bulky — mostly worsted weight).

Q: Can I pick and choose which months I want?
A: Yes. You can either buy a one month membership for each month that you want, or if you want the savings of the longer term memberships you can sign up for 3 or 6 months and list in the notes to seller which months you want (they don’t have to be a consecutive 3 or 6 months).

Q: What if I decide to extend my membership?
A: You can do that at any time by purchasing another membership from the shop. Unfortunately if you decide to add 3 months to a 3 month membership, you won’t get the same savings of purchasing a 6 month membership up front.
