As an artist, I am constantly finding new ways to represent the knitted form in a creative way. Recently, I worked on a collaborative mural project and was lucky enough to have some great inspiration. Part of the mural was a cityscape and I decided it needed a “yarn bomb” behind it. Upon completion I realized that I could do the same thing on a smaller scale and hunted around for some vintage postcards to experiment with.

This past summer a friend of mine introduced me to the idea of making dyed canvas shoes. I decided I NEEDED a pair with knit stitches on it, since so much of my life revolves around knitting. These photos are of that pair, and let me say they are super comfy and have held up very well.

I have been wearing my special shoes to various knit themed events and everyone is always in awe of them. Within all my pieces, I’m interested in knitting and art. I like to recreate imaginary worlds within my art using knitted forms. I love the way the knitting stitches look and hope to capture this in my works.

All of my greeting cards are 100% handmade, with a beautiful watercolor image on the front. All the images represent some sort of knit stitch, either stockinette or garter, and are made with acid free materials.
