What to stash this week: Pops of color

One of the highlights of the Rhinebeck Trunk Show was getting to see several colorways and bases from The Woolen Rabbit in person. While Kim unfortunately was unable to make it to the show from her home in New Hampshire and have her own display as planned, we ended up doing a last minute change and she sent me yarn to sell in the Indie Untangled booth. And now, you have the opportunity to purchase what I took home with me in a special Woolen Rabbit pop-up….

What to stash this week, whether you’re at Rhinebeck or not

For this year’s Rhinebeck Trunk Show, I played indie matchmaker, bringing together Nikki of Dark Harbour Yarn and designer Jennifer Dassau. The result of their collaboration is Refracted, a two-color shawl with a mix of stitches that refract at a central point. Jennifer used two skeins of Nikki’s Starboard, a wonderful single-ply blend of Merino and silk that I used for my Trunk Show Shawl….

What to stash this week: A yarny journey

Starshowers is the third installment of her Silk Road 2016 Shawl Club: Explorer. A six-skein gradient set and a contrasting color create an asymmetrical crescent shaped shawl that uses short rows to evoke what Simone calls “the illusion of sweeping stars and star showers above” and “the night sky with just a hint of light at dawn, and the milky way still visible overhead.”

If you’re allergic to wool,…

What to stash this week: Moving Day sale

Laura and the crew at Slipped Stitch Studios crew moving to a new, larger space. Throughout this weekend, they’re holding a huge moving sale, offering decent discounts on some of their most popular products.

Simone’s new design, the Upland Socks, look like the knitting equivalent of wiggling your toes in some thick green grass. Inspired by gnarled branches and twisting roots, the socks feature a cable pattern worked on the front,…

What to stash this week: Sunny color

Casapinka has yet again worked her magic with variegated yarn. Albuquerque Sunset uses slipped stitches and stockinette to let the bold color peek through a contrasting solid. Inspired by the sunsets over the Sandia Mountains, knit this one during your next Breaking Bag binge (or while you’re waiting out the return of Better Call Saul). The pattern is $1 off through tomorrow with the code redorgreen.

Hand Dyed By Kate is known for rainbow sets and self-striping sock yarn,…

Members receive four accessory patterns released in April, June, September and November, well before they’re available for sale individually. The first pattern, which you receive when you sign up, is Daydreamer, a two-color crescent shaped shawl with stripes, eyelets and a knitted-on edging, exactly the simple, striking, pattern that Janina is known for….

What to stash this week: Simple pleasures

The Simple Treasures shawl pattern from Christine, the dyer behind TreasureGoddess Yarn, allows her luxurious and fun MCN yarn to shine while you indulge in one of life’s simple pleasures. The triangular shawl, with panels of stockinette and simple lace, takes a skein of her Cashmere Super Toes MCN yarn, which comes in super-sized skeins of 600 yards and colorways, with such fantastic names as Song of the Sirens (pictured above in the shawl),…
