The number 10 in white surrounded by pink, purple and white flowers and pale pink yarn with dark pink and purple speckles.

Ten years ago this week, I officially launched Indie Untangled by sending out the first newsletter. It was the first step in an amazing journey.

I couldn’t pass this milestone without a yarn-y celebration! For the next 10 months, we are going to mark this occasion with 10 special colorways, each from an indie dyer who has posted to the Indie Untangled online marketplaceand been featured in the newsletter. The colorways will all be inspired by the floral image above.

The first 10th anniversary colorway is from Hazel Knits. Wendee, who is based in Seattle — I got to visit her studio when I was there in 2022 during my cross-country adventure — was first dyer to post, so it’s fitting that hers is the first colorway.

You have two options for ordering: you can preorder the yarn a la carte on either Artisan Sock or Lively DK through April 12 — each dyer’s colorway will be available to preorder for one week at the beginning of each month — or you can sign up for a subscription and receive all 10 colorways at a discount.

Spring colored yarn and fiber in pinks and greens on top of the book Emma by Jane Austen.

Melissa’s Storyteller Stitchery Society provides hand-dyed yarn, fiber, or silk embroidery threads inspired by a books. You can choose one or any combination, depending on your favorite fiber crafts and add on optional tea inspired by the book’s characters and places.
