We’re having a shop update today at 7 p.m. Eastern with a ton of new OOAK colorways!

We’ll be kicking off our 2018 Monthly Mystery Sock Club as well. No three-month commitment. Just purchase the month(s) your yarny heart desires! The January listing will go up tomorrow and stay on for one week.

There will be a Mystery Micro-Stripe SockAlong to go with our Mystery sock club! It’s called a Micro-Stripe SAL because almost all my colorways(except tonals) micro-stripe when knit into socks. A prize winner will be drawn every month for 2018 and at the end of the year, a big grand prize winner also be drawn from knitters/hookers who’ve made socks with all 12 mystery club colorways. Check out our website and don’t forget to sign up for our newsletter to receive sneak previews of our bi-weekly shop updates!

THE BACKSTORY:
That Clever Clementine’s POP Thru The Parks collection has been designed to tie in with IndieUntangled’s National Parks Project, which has offered four special colorways in 2017, each by a different indie dyer.

This item will be available for pre-order for two weeks, or until the limited edition of 24 pieces is sold out, whichever comes first. (Please note: previous releases have sold out in as little as 1.5 hours.) All items in the collection feature delightful fabric from Amy Peppler Adams’s “Soda Nation” Collection; the December bowls have pumpkin-ish lining with wee yellow dots.

This is the final item in this collection. I hope you’ve enjoyed it, and will check back in 2018 for more limited edition fun!

ITEM #4:
Here’s one of my POPular yarn bowls, released to coincide with DuckDuckWool’s eye-popping Glaciers & Wildflowers colorway. These foldable, unbreakable yarn bowls offer a safe place for your yarn as well as a cozy repository for your knitting when you set it aside.

Go ahead, curl up on the couch with your knitting — you can put this soft bowl anywhere, without worrying about it breaking. When the dog jumps up and your bowl goes rollin’ … phew … no broken crockery to cry over! (Plus, customers tell me they use these bowls to keep all manner of household items tidy, from rolled up hand towels to remote controls, from last night’s jewelry and pocket change to dinner rolls.)

ORDERING INFO:
• This Limited Edition item is $32, plus $4 s/h (Sorry, US only.)
• Pre-orders open at 9:00 a.m. EDT, December 8, at ThatCleverClementine.com.
• Order period closes when 24 bags sell out, no later than midnight EDT December 22, 2017.
• Orders will ship on or before January 26, 2018.

THE FINE PRINT:
• Bowl is about 7″ tall at full extension; you can roll it up or down as desired. It is also about 7″ in diameter.
• As with all handsewn items, please expect some minor variations. In particular, print placement will vary, so you will not get the exact assortment of pop caps you see here.
• All items are made by me, in our pet-free, smoke-free home.

We’re having a shop update Friday 12/8/17 featuring new colorways on our Plum Squishy Bulky yarn base along with a couple of sock and DK weight yarns as well. We will also be publishing a chunky beanie hat pattern which will be free to download throughout the weekend. There’s still time to make those quick-knit holiday gifts and we’re here to help. 🙂

The shop has been updated with the last of the Christmas yarn for the season. There are more heel/toe sock sets in Sugar Plum Fairy, Mistletoe’s for Two, and Christmas Cookies. Along with regular sized heel/toe sets are our Shortie Sock sets that are great for those who like short cuffs or are great for children’s socks. (All heel/toe sets come with 1 main skein and 1 mini skein.)

Lots of Cozy Christmas mini sets have been added. Now is great time to start knitting mini stockings for a Christmas advent for next year. The minis would also look great as squares in a blanket or used to knit ornaments for your tree.

Rainbow Brite heel/toe sets are also back in stock in both the full sized and shortie socks sets. This set is unique from our usual sets because this one features a rainbow heel/toe instead of the usually semi-solid mini skein.

Hello!

My grandmother taught me to embroider and crochet when I was 10. This is not a unique story in the fiber community but one of my favorite parts that so many have this story. Through the years, I’ve flirted with crochet and embroidered myself into many happy places. My grandmother’s lessons were the foundation to me becoming an artist/designer.

Fast forward years 30 years and inspired by my mother’s knitting and fiber obsession, I create jewelry to adorn handmade fiber arts garments. I design shawl pins and buttons using the 5,000-year-old lost wax casting process. Each piece is either hand carved out of wax or 3D printed in wax, cast in sterling silver or bronze and hand finished by the artist in Los Angeles.

I would love share my jewels with you! Visit my online store, Porterness Studio, with this 20% off discount code: Indie20

Carrying on with family tradition I too live with a fiber and knitting addiction and do not want to be cured.

Take care,

If you have a tiny amount of wild and crazy yarn in your stash – brightly coloured super bulky, or maybe some fabulous but baffling handspun art yarn – Nullkommanix could be the answer. It might also solve a gift knitting crisis. AND it has a couple of nifty tricks to teach you.

Nullkommanix (meaning 0.0 seconds, which is about how long it takes to make) is knitted in simple elongated garter stitch, then twisted to make a moebius loop. Here’s the fun part: you can use the simple backward loop method as a nearly perfect provisional cast-on; I do that all the time in all kinds of yarn, but wild yarn like this will camouflage it particularly well. Photo tutorials teach you how to do that, and how to kitchener in garter stitch, for a super-easy and satisfying result that you’ll find yourself applying everywhere.

Anyone who know me knows how much I love a good fingering weight yarn. But as the months become colder I look forward to working with a heavier weight yarn. Since I am very picky about the yarn bases that I carry in my shop, it has taken me a while to find the perfect heavier weight yarn bases. I am happy to announce that I finally found them and that they are now available in the shop!

You can now find a variety of DK weight yarns in various blends of Merino, nylon, Cashmere, and sparkle. These new bases are available as single skeins and I even have a few fade kits. For more information about these yarns please visit the Yarn Base section of my website.

Besides adding new bases to the website I have also added a few new colors including Relative Dimension, Three Fates, Celestial Beauty, and some new tonals.
