It’s been a while since I updated my Etsy shop, but I have been keeping very busy. Between making new paintings and trying to stay warm, I have also been creating new items that I am sure any knitter would enjoy.

First, I have some gorgeous silk scarves that are decorated with the same stitch motif you see on my shoes. I really enjoy drawing knit stitches and playing with color. These are 100% silk scarves and are decorated using standard sharpies. But don’t let that fool you — they are still an amazing accessory.

The second gift I have created is the “Knitter’s Notebook”. A hand-bound book with 24 lined pages, the front and back are decorated with my watercolor knit stitch motif, as seen on my greeting cards. This was a fun project to learn to do and I expect to add more to my shop very soon.

If you like these products but don’t see a color you like, I will take custom orders on either. Just send me a message.

I’m so excited to release Babalicious! Babalicious is a three piece set that includes mitts, a cowl and boot toppers that can all be made from just one skein of Miss Babs Yowza! This fun set was inspired by Miss Babs herself; her likeableness and charm come out in the beautiful yarns that she dyes. I thought it was very fitting to name this pattern after her. The cable pattern adds a bit of texture that works well with Miss Babs colorways in both solid and variegated.
The set is specially priced at $5.99 on Ravelry.

This hat features a cable panel with the rest of the hat in a textured moss stitch. The fit should be just a little loose, not truly slouchy but not tight either. The hat is knit in the round on circular needles in a fingering weight yarn (a solid or semi-solid is recommended). Pattern includes both written directions for all stitch patterns as well as charts for the cable panel.

About the Name: Brangien (whose name is spelled in many different ways) is a character in the Tristan and Isolde story, which is a rather tragic love story.

Rich goat milk soaps feature ethically sourced ingredients that are so gentle on the skin! Add thick creams, luxuriant lotions and more and you will have skin as beautiful as your work! Developed by a veteran knitter, Karen also has an Arnica Muscle Rub that will work wonders for your cramped hands. Featuring organic arnica infused in avocado oil, the Arnica Muscle Rub helps keep inflammation at bay while providing natural moisturizing without being greasy or funky while you knit or crochet.

The Internet is a great source of information these days… some of it conflicting. Take the name of this sweater: Isaura. Quite a few sites told me that Isaura (pronounced ee-SOW-rah) originated with the Portuguese, Spanish, or Late Roman, and indicates that one is from Isauria, a region in Asia Minor. On the other hand, an equal number of sites said that Isaura (now pronounced ee-SOR-uh) is from the Greek, and means “soft air,” or “gentle breeze.” Regardless of the actual origins of this particular word, here I prefer the Greek. This feminine cardigan is the perfect thing to pull on when the soft air of evening’s gentle breeze whispers against your skin.

Though it’s rarely the case, here the delicate lace and cable stitches are fully reversible, making the shawl collar look exactly the same on the front and back sides of the fabric, so there is no awkward wrong side to hide.

Cardigan is knit in pieces from the hem up. Lace panels are knit with each front, and are worked as an applied border from the top of the shoulder to the back of the neck, after back and front shoulders are joined. The lace pattern is mirrored (chiral) on right and left front panels, except that all lace-related decreases are k2tog for simplicity.

I’ve had spring on the mind lately while developing new hues of Islington for the coming months, and I’ve come up with a new range of hues which I realised are perfect for Saturday’s love up … and are in the shop update this week!

There is a good mix of updated stock, new colours and other bits for fun as well, so check in at 5pm GMT this Friday Feb 13th on the new website shop to see what is available!

Also, if anyone is looking for last minute Valentine’s Day gifts, or wanting to forward some hints to a significant other, I also have gift certificates available as downloads in store!

Happy Valentines Day, everyone!
