Mother’s Day is just around the corner and what better gift is there than YARN?! Our loved ones know we love yarn but do they really know which yarn we love? Probably not. Well, I’ve got the perfect solution!

My Gift of Yarn Program is a fun and unique one! Your loved one buys the package of their choice and then you choose the color and fiber! You can choose from anything that I have in my current stock. If you don’t see something you like you can wait ‘til the next stocking to see if something appeals to you. There is no expiration! Your loved one can choose to buy one month, 6 months or a full year! During checkout, they’ll give me your email and a date when I can contact you. After that date, I’ll email you asking what color and fiber you want. Send your loved one here!

This week is Small Business Week and to celebrate I’ve got a coupon code for 15% off anything in my shop. Hurry, though – it ends Friday May 5 at midnight! Use coupon code SMALLBIZWEEK at checkout.

Have you found your fade yet? I’ve got a fun KAL going on over in my Facebook Group. It’s super chill and relaxed. You’re welcome to join us if you’re in the middle of it, almost finished, or haven’t even started! Click here to join us.

And finally – Friday means I have new inventory! Head on over to my shop to see what I’ve got!

Sophistication assumes the slightest touch of rustic.

Vintage No. 2 contains deluxe long-staple fibers from a few hand-selected fleeces with an added touch of cultured silk. The resulting blend balances a shimmering-soft hand with surprising strength. The yarn is loosely spun with a subtle thick-and-thin texture, yet it knits up into a durable fabric with crisp stitch definition and lovely drape. It is perfect for both cables and lace work.

This blend comprises 40% Cormo x Merino lamb’s wool, 35% superfine Shetland, 15% prime alpaca, and 10% cultivated silk. The Cormo x Merino superfine lamb’s wool comes from Marshall, a lamb hand-raised in the Hudson Valley. As with all Vintage fleeces, it was hand-selected as the best of its kind and for the unique qualities it contributes to the final blend of fibers. Marshall’s wool is sleek but sturdy, with long fibers that are extremely soft but resistant to pilling. The Shetland fleeces are even softer, providing phenomenally light and warm fiber that assures both body and drape. The prime alpaca fleece comes from Angel, and won Best in Show at the 2016 Garden State Sheep Breeders Fleece Show.

Small quantities of Vintage No. 2 have been hand-dyed in soft, complementary colors. It is pre-washed, but swatching and blocking are always recommended.

From left to right:
CIRRUS (variegated) – charcoal and blue grey
BRACKEN (variegated) moss green with tints of rust
PERSIMMON* (semi-solid) – cool orange
POOL (semi-solid) – clear pale blue
APPLE WOOD* (solid) – muted chartreuse
*PERSIMMON and APPLE WOOD derive their base colors from botanical natural dyes (brazilwood and apple bark, respectively), and the final colors are achieved with tints of primary acid dyes. As with all natural dyes, minimal amounts of dye run-off may occur when washed.

Regency Collection kits inspired by Jane Austen’s various characters and novels are now available on the website. There are two types of kits and each one will be available for pre-order until May 14 at 8 p.m. EDT in the Kits section of the website. You also have the option of purchasing each of these new colors individually. Kits and individual skeins will ship in late June 2017.

The kit includes the following Austen-inspired colors:
1. Sarah Stone of Potsley Hall – my personal character if I were in an Austen Novel
2. Miss Bennet’s Muddy Hem – from Pride and Prejudice
3. Miss Woodhouse, Please Advise – from Emma
4. Miss Dashwood and her Sensability – from Sense and Sensibility

All kits include full skeins of my Snug Base which is 75/25 SW Merino/nylon fingering weight; 462 yds/100 grams per skein. That gives you a total of 1,848 yards in the largest kit to make something spectacular. The possibilities are endless for this particular kit and colors as there are so many wonderful pattern coming out that use multiple colors and fades.

If you enjoyed the Find Your Fade Shawl as much as me, you were probably really excited to hear about Andrea Mowry’s new pattern, the So Faded sweater!

I am all about this, and since I’m working on my own So Faded right now, I can say what a great pattern it is. So many options, and as a top-down, seamless knit, it’s easy to try it on as you go and make it fit exactly the way you want. The simplicity of the style is perfect for featuring hand-dyed yarns, so I’m working on some killer fade kits.

Right now, the pictured kit is available for pre-order, expected to ship on or before May 16th. I also plan to work up a whole bunch of OOAK kits. I’m using two different base options, Funny Farm, a super soft Merino/Cashmere/nylon yarn, and Twisted, a plump, 2-ply sock yarn. Expect to see these start popping up in shop the week of May 12th.

The last time I offered sock yarn sets with a coordinating mini they sold out FAST so I decided to offer them again, this time with two popular colorways. Pot O’ Gold and Maeve are 100g/383yd skeins and come with a coordinating 25g/95yd mini skein in the Glas colorway. These sock sets are on my Aoibhneas base, which is my Superwash MCN fingering base. A delight to knit with!

Friday is the LAST day you can order a Joji Starting Point Shawl MKAL kit! I’ve got two kits, available on your choice of 3 bases. Get yours here!

Speaking of sets, I’ve got some skeins that look great together but aren’t sold as sets. You get to mix and match! Eire and Draiocht are both beautiful colorways and would look great with either Loc Ness or Corcra. These drool worthy colorways are dyed on my Misneach base, a worsted weight 100% NON Superwash Sustainable Merino wool yarn.

Yoshi & Lucy has released preorders for Joji Locatelli’s upcoming mystery wrap kal. Sign-ups are now open with the first clue release on May 12th. It is a rectangle shawl and uses five full skeins. Using a color guide from Joji I have put together two kits. They have been approved by Joji.

This kit includes the five full skeins that you will need to make this shawl. Have the choice between two bases, Isabel (Superwash Merino/nylon) and Ines (Superwash Merino).

Isabel Base
75% Super Wash Merino
25% Nylon, 4-ply
463 yards/100g

Ines Base
100% Super Wash Merino, 3-ply
490 yards/100g

This kit has been discounted. Full price of set is $120.

Kits will start shipping on May 1st with enough time for the first clue release on May 12.

Thank you for checking out the shop!

Joji Locatelli is doing a Mystery Knit Along, available for sign-up on April 18th. It’s been four years since her last one, so I’m especially excited for this. The MKAL is going to be a five-color wrap. With her guidance, I’ve put together the two kits pictured above, which will be available to order between April 18th and April 25th.

I’m only dyeing a limited number of these kits, and they will be just perfect for what Joji’s got up her sleeve. You’ll receive them in the mail in time for the first clue on May 12th, and I’ll even wind them for you if you’d like. Each kit is comprised of five full skeins of my Madhouse fingering yarn, which is 100% Superwash Merino wool. I’ll be making one myself, and I can’t wait to see all our wraps taking shape!

Also new in shop are spring mini sets. Take a look, and embrace your crazy!

Kim at Kim Dyes Yarn has been busy dyeing up a line of new colorways for spring and is excited to share them with you in a shop update. You’ll fall for bright and fun colorways like Bed of Iris, Beach House, and Peaches on a variety of yarn weights from fingering to bulky.

Also in this shop update are new shawl length skeins on Croissant sock, a 100% superwash merino fingering yarn. Each skein has 650 yards–enough to make numerous shawl patterns. AND! Bulky skeins are instock, now with 150 yards for the same price as the old skeins of 105 yards. I heard your concern that 105 yards wasn’t enough for many projects and decided to make the bulky Cream Puff Superwash Merino yarn even better.

Spinners, watch for colorways on Sparkly Superwash Merino, Superwash Targhee, & BFL/Silk.

The shop update goes live at Noon EST on Friday, April 14th. Thank you!

We’ve all had that thought.

And I’ve got the answer! Did you know there are different dye techniques? There are 4 — semi-solid, speckled, kettle dyed, and hand painted.

We’re going to explore each one in this FREE week long challenge! It’s all going down the week of April 24 and we’d love to have you join us.

Each day we’re going to explore a different technique. I will send out an email describing the technique, listing the pros and cons, and giving pattern suggestions. Then we’ll knit up a swatch to see how the colors dance and play together! I’ll even have a swatch for my hookers. There will also be prizes!

So are you in? Go here to join us!

The ever so talented C.C. Almon from JavaPurl designs and I have collaborated once again to bring you this 12th Doctor inspired sock kit. Each sock kit will include one skein of my Snug base yarn in exclusive color ‘But I think I came out more Magician’, one code so that you can download for free from Ravelry the matching sock pattern, and one set of themed stitch markers.

This is pre-order which means that this product will only be available to purchase from April 10-23, 2017 until 8 p.m. EDT in the kits section of the Pandia’s Jewels website. These kits will ship in mid to late May.
