Why just Talk Like a Pirate, when you can Knit Like a Yarn Pirate?!? Treasure Goddess Yarn is releasing the Buried Treasure Collection on Friday, Sept 16th! This collection features gradient mini skein sets of luxury sock yarn in colorways Blackbeard’s Revenge and Floats Your Boat. A new knitted shawl pattern and crocheted scarf pattern is being unveiled and the collection also features pirate sheep stitch markers and needle gauges to complete any yarn pirate’s stash. There has been a serious shop update at Cedar Hill Farm Company! New colorways have been added to nearly every available base, especially to Rocket Sock and Traveler, because sock knitting is in full swing and Socktober is on the horizon. You’ll love our selection of self-striping and multi-colored yarns that not only work up like a dream in your hands, but are also completely colorfast and machine washable.
We have also begun carrying kits for two patterns: All About That Curve (ankle socks with a Sweet Tomato Heel) and Inverse Mitts (fingerless stranded color work mitts). Each kit contains notions necessary for pattern completion. Choose your colorways or let us do it for you. Both kits create perfect accessories for the much-anticipated cooler weather of Autumn.
In addition to all of the new yarns, we also have plenty of new project bags to choose from. Our ever-popular two-grommet bags are perfect for small take-along projects and fit easily inside a purse, tote, or backpack. Our set-in zipper design allows you to keep your project tucked safely inside the bag without the worry of catching your yarn in the the zipper. Our sweater-size bags feature and nylon webbing wristlet and are just the right size for taking your sweater project on an outing. Summer show season has begun in England in earnest, and Third Vault Yarns is joining in the fun.
Our first show is Fibre East, taking place on the 30th and 31st of July at Redbourne community college in Ampthill, Bedfordshire. We’ll be in the Romney tent on grandstanding with a fantastic selection of yarn including our newest base, Gytha Worsted, a squishy buttery soft SW Falkland Merino offering. Just to make things extra special we’ve been collaborating with Kate Bostwick of Cowtown Knits to create some wonderful new kits.
The fantastic shawl you see here is Lambton Panes, our first collaboration, designed by Kate using a custom Cowtown colourway along with a solid. It has gone through several iterations in the design stage, but has morphed into the beautiful shawl you see above. Whilst the kits will be officially launched at Fibre East, you can still get your hands on one. I’ve come up with a range of different gradient colourways which can be paired with the new selection of solids all ready to be Pre-ordered ahead of Fibre East. If you’ll be attending the show you can pre-order your kit now ready to collect at our stand, to make sure that you don’t miss out, as there will be a limited number at the show. Otherwise all pre-ordered kits will be posted on the 5th of August. So what are you waiting for? Get yours now!
For all knitters and crocheters who love sheep and color — these stitch/progress markers are the perfect combo!
The glass sheep are handmade in my studio in Indianapolis, Indiana along with an ever-growing selection of other markers. Since I am a knitter as well, all of the markers are made specially to be snag-free and they come in a small tin for storage. They can be made into markers for knitting with 2 sizes of rings which are soldered closed, all clasps for crocheters or a combination of a clasped progress marker and the rest rings. If you need something special, just ask! I will do my best to make your request happen.
