Showing stitch markers

20 new colourways inspired by Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll are available in superwash merino DK and a sock weight mix of 75% wool and 25% nylon. Grab yourself a single 100g skein or a multi-pack of miniskeins. Themed project bags and stitch markers are also available.

Alice in Wonderland was always a favorite of mine. The vivid characters of the Disney cartoon helped colour my imagination as a child and some of the new colourways are obviously influenced by the film. Other characters (yarns) come straight from the book. Rereading it now, I was surprised at how little colour is mentioned. In fact, for such a lively tale, there is very little in the way of description of colour and appearance at all. But leaving so much to the imagination is where the fun begins!

I have kept this series strictly to the characters in the book Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, which leaves out a few familiar characters that appear in the later book, Through the Looking-Glass (and What Alice Found There). I save these in my head for perhaps another dyeing adventure.

Still a little sore over Firefly’s cancellation?

Very much still in love with the Crew and the best goram ship in the ‘verse?

Want something to knit/crochet whilst you relive the joy of the series and the film?

Join us for the inaugural yarn club and the shiny, shiny theme! Sign ups are open here.

Third Vault Yarns has launched a new Themed Quarterly Yarn Club, so you can get some squishy yarn inspired by your favourite fandoms and some fun themed goodies too!

Every quarter starts with voting on three themes; At the end of the month one theme is chosen based on your votes and then sign ups open. Throughout the second month you get some glorious teasers of what’s in the box, but most of it will stay a mystery until you receive your club box in the last month of the quarter.

The 4th annual Georgia FiberFest, Georgia’s largest fiber festival, is a week away! Cedar Hill Farm Company is a sponsor again this year and I will have a booth (you can’t miss us; we’re at the front door!) full of seriously gorgeous autumn yarns that won’t hit the online shop until AFTER the event, unless I sell out at the show and then they’ll just be gone (so you better come to the show and shop ’til you drop!!). I’m also going to have 50 new grommet knitting bags that aren’t listed in the shop, stitch markers, knitting needles, patterns, hand-painted roving, natural alpaca and llama roving, and THE VERY FIRST YARN FROM THE SHEEP OF CEDAR HILL FARM.

I am also teaching some knitting classes — go here to register for more than 50 classes in every area of fiber craft that there is — so you’ll want to get in on that, too. This event is also being sponsored by Kromski North America and several other amazing companies. Plus, the Handweavers’ Guild of America will be there doing some fabulous demonstrations. The list of must-see vendors is pretty long (Sheep Incognito, for example, will have a booth…) and the market is FREE, because who wants to spend money on admission when there’s sooooooooo much hand-painted and hand-dyed yarn to buy? As well, there will be a dinner in a restored mill on the river catered by one darned amazing chef, and Pam Powers, who is also teaching two classes during the show, is the guest speaker. You’ll also want to get in on that!

The Georgia FiberFest will be September 10-12 at the Convention and Trade Center in Columbus, GA, which just so happens to be a restored ironworks from the Civil War with its own train! So, stop in or stay over and visit twice! Hope to see you there!

A few years ago I dabbled a bit into making beaded stitch markers as a fundraiser for my local Relay For Life event. I had a huge stash of beads my Aunt had brought me back from France and I needed to use some of them up. I found myself searching the internet for the best way to make markers and thus “Hope Markers” were born.

I haven’t sold markers as a fundraiser for over a year now, and I was beginning to miss making them. I still had tons of beads and wire, so why not? I spent a few days over my holiday making the markers you will find in my shop. All are completely unique, made with nylon coated wire and beads from both France and here in the USA. They are snag free, in that they are held together with crimp beads and a drop of super glue.

Although I am not donating the proceeds to Relay For Life, I hope you will consider buying my markers as a personal donation to my artistic endeavors. As an artist, I explore knitting and the stitches within my work (Something you will see in my prints and cards also on my shop) and am currently in an unpaid internship where my main focus is to make art. All proceeds from my Etsy shop go to supporting myself during this time.

Thank you for taking the time to explore my shop.
