As the light softens and the air turns crisp, fall calls us to slow down and wrap ourselves in comfort. Twilight Drift was designed to capture that quiet beauty. A one-skein DK bandana cowl with flowing cables, delicate eyelets, and a clean i-cord edge that frames it all together.

Worked with simple increases and decreases, Twilight Drift drapes effortlessly into its triangular shape. The rhythm of the stitches is both soothing and satisfying, making it the perfect companion for cozy autumn afternoons and twilight evenings.
Whether paired with a favorite sweater, worn on a crisp morning walk, or layered under a jacket, Twilight Drift adds warmth, elegance, and a touch of seasonal romance to your wardrobe.

Details:
Yarn: 1 skein DK weight (approx. 245 yards/224 meters) – for this design I teamed up with Queen City Yarn to feature their Coleman base
Construction: Bandana style with shaping from increases + decreases; worked flat and seamed to finish.
Features: Cables, eyelets, i-cord edging

Wrap yourself in twilight and let every stitch drift you closer to fall.
Enjoy 25% through Monday, Oct 20th on my website or Ravlery, no code needed.

October is upon us and I have a fun skein of yarn for you! This month I am featuring the painting “Weeping Woman” by Pablo Picasso, a rainbow of colors that’s oh so fun to dye and, I imagine, fun to knit with!

You have your choice from all of my usual bases in any quantity of your choice. Skeins will ship with a fact card about the artwork but to get all the extra goodies you must subscribe to the full club. All orders are due by October 24th to ship by the end of the month.

There’s a special kind of magic that happens when the air turns crisp and the first golden leaves start to fall. That’s Shore Pine season, the time for layering soft yarns, sipping cider, and reaching for your favorite handmade cowl. 🌲🍂

The Shore Pine Cowl is a crochet pattern inspired by those in-between moments of fall: cool mornings, sunny afternoons, and the scent of pine carried on the wind. Its rhythmic stitches and gentle texture evoke the feeling of walking beneath evergreens on the coast — calm, grounded, and ready for whatever comes next.

Worked in the round with approachable techniques, it’s the perfect project for adventurous beginners and seasoned makers alike. The pattern shines in Spinsters Worsted by Farmer’s Daughter Fibers, whose tonal hues echo the quiet beauty of nature.

The koru, which is often used in Māori art as a symbol of creation, is based on the shape of an unfurling fern frond. Its circular shape conveys the idea of perpetual movement, and its inward coil suggests a return to the point of origin. It represents peace, tranquility, personal growth, positive change and awakening.

The symbolism of the koru ties into perfectly with the art of knitting. Knitting is a form of self-care, a meditative activity that can bring peace and tranquility to one’s soul in a noisy world where we don’t have a lot of control or choice. Choose the color of your yarn, determine the method of construction, make some decisions about the length of the sleeves or finishing details, and then find some quiet alone time as you create a hand knit garment that’s unique to the world — because YOU made it with your own two hands.

This light cardigan perfectly suits transitional seasons like spring and autumn with three-quarter sleeves. Using a cotton fingering-weight yarn enhances its natural versatility.

Feel the yarn run through your fingers as you work. Watch as the twisted stitches outline the lace to paint an intricate tapestry, even as you experience the simplicity in its knitting. Dive into the process, savor the healing power of working up the piece, and celebrate when it’s complete. Your family and friends will wonder at this intricate tapestry you’ve created.
Cast on today and indulge in the healing power of your knitting.

Wool & Wyrd Featured Knitting Pattern: Thicc Witch Hat

Perhaps this hat will be part of a costume, a prop with which to try on being a witch for a day. Or perhaps it will be a statement piece, an announcement to the world of a path chosen year-round, even if one only dresses the part once a year.

The Thicc Witch Hat Knitting Pattern celebrates bold magic and confident making. Worked in bulky yarn, it knits up fast, perfect for last-minute inspiration or a weekend of creative play. The design is fully size-inclusive, from child to large adult, because every little witch and grown-up witch alike deserves to dress accordingly. The sturdy brim is supported by a hidden floral hoop, while the thick, cozy yarn gives the pointed crown enough structure to stand tall on its own.

Whether displayed in a local yarn shop window or worn under moonlight, this witch hat invites attention, joy, and a little everyday enchantment.
