Fall can never come fast enough for me. As soon as there’s a hint of crisp in the air, I’m ready for all the wool and all the sweater knitting. And I have just the bags for those new projects…

I make everything myself and love putting together beautiful combinations of fabrics, many with water-resistant hand-waxed canvases, leather trims, and useful features like open-wide tops and metal frames to hold your knitting bag open.

Right now, I have all sizes of project bags with magnetic snap or zipper closures, all fully lined and with waxed canvas bases. I have super cute Sockses Boxes for knitting your smaller projects on the go, and extra large and sturdy backpacks. I’m almost never able to offer these on my website because they sell out too quickly at events, but I tried to make extra this year. They have eight pockets, a waterproof canvas lining, leather trims, and adjustable straps. Even better, the base and strap attachments are all reinforced for strength and durability, so load it up with a project for your favorite fall fiber fest and use it the next week to carry your laptop and books to work.

Please have a look! I hope you’ll find one you love.

The Terrapin Fiberworks plant-based countdown calendar is live! This gently colorful box is inspired by the joy, creativity, and irresistible flavors of my favorite comfort baking show. The palette will lean toward soft pastels and brights, which I hope brings some lightness into the dark months of your year!

We are offering this box on Severn Tencel Light Fingering and Chesapeake Organic Cotton Fingering and DK. The contents include five 20g minis and one full skein (add-ons available!), one hand-dyed zipper project bag (10″ x 7″ x 3) and a few small mystery goodies. Price is $90 (+ shipping) for all bases, so perfect for gifting. We ship in time for opening during the last week of the year.

This fall, Wool & Wyrd and Knot Bad Britt are excited to co-host the Stitch & Bewitch Make-Along (MAL), a seasonal event inviting knitters and crocheters to celebrate autumn by knitting and crocheting witch hats in community. Participants can choose between two patterns: the Salem Slouch (knit) and the City Witch Hat (crochet). Both designs are available for just $5 each through the month of October.

The event runs from October 5 through October 26, 2025, and is designed to bring makers together across crafts and skill levels in a shared journey. Along the way, participants can enjoy games, group chats, Zoom gatherings, and prizes that encourage connection and keep the momentum going. The Stitch & Bewitch MAL celebrates the joy of seasonal making while strengthening our creative community.

At its heart, this make-along emphasizes what unites us as makers while honoring the unique qualities of each craft. Whether by hook or by needle, every stitch becomes part of a collective tapestry of creativity and strengthens the fabric of our fiber community. Wool & Wyrd and Knot Bad Britt warmly invite knitters, crocheters, and yarn shops alike to celebrate the season together, one witch hat at a time.

And I’m so here for it! Looking for some fall colours to cast on, I landed on the oranges in our Blue Cypress collection. These were some of my first colours and not very sophisticated. I felt they could use a reboot. The updated versions of Fall Y’all and Ferruginous are subtler and more nuanced in tone. Hopefully you like them too. I cast them on immediately in this Pavuk Vest pattern by Teti Lutsak.

The Willow Breeze Collection was designed with movement, ease, and quiet beauty in mind. At the heart of the set is the pullover, a top-down raglan that balances classic simplicity with playful details. Gentle cables twist and curve like branches, and airy drop stitches and yarn overs invite space and light. With 11 inclusive sizes (34–74″/86-185 cm finished bust) and a relaxed fit that’s perfect for layering, it’s a sweater you’ll reach for season after season.

Alongside the pullover is the Willow Breeze Cowl, a piece that grew naturally from the same design. I wanted an option for every knitter… something smaller, quicker, but just as inviting. The cowl captures the same breezy stitches, wrapping gently around your neck with cozy warmth and effortless style.

Both designs are knit in worsted weight yarn, making them approachable projects for knitters ready to enjoy thoughtful details and beautiful finishes. Together, the sweater and cowl create a lovely pairing, though each one stands nicely on its own.

Midnight Botanica is a story of blooms that thrive in shadow — a collection of crochet shawls designed for makers who see beauty in the moody, the mysterious, and the unexpected. Each piece carries its own spirit, inviting you to stitch not just fabric, but feeling.

Crimson Vow – The bold centerpiece. This oversized triangle shawl is dramatic and unapologetic, with lace that catches the light like poetry. It’s for the maker who craves romance and presence — a piece that turns heads and wraps you in strength.
Griselda – The heirloom reimagined. Griselda is a rectangle wrap that feels like something treasured in a vintage trunk, reborn with modern sensibility. Its lace and moss stitch textures create timeless elegance, perfect for quiet evenings or dressing up the everyday.
Hekataion – The mystic’s choice. Rooted in ritual and shadow, Hekataion is a wrap of intarsia motifs and creative construction. It feels powerful, like walking a midnight crossroads, reminding us that crochet can be both bold and contemplative.
Penstemon – The gentle bloom. With its crescent shape and floral lace, Penstemon drapes like petals caught in moonlight. It’s light, romantic, and endlessly wearable — the shawl you reach for when you want both comfort and grace.

Together, these four designs create A Dark Bloom Collection — a midnight garden of texture and story. They can be stitched individually or gathered as a bundle for the full experience.

The collection is currently available for preorder at $20, and will increase to $24 upon release on October 10. Indie Untangled subscribers can enjoy an exclusive price of just $15 with code INDIE until 10/10.

Step into the midnight garden, and let these dark blooms inspire your next project.

Have you ever purchased a skein of yarn with a really eccentric and unique colorway, maybe on vacation or at a fiber show, and then watched it sit in your stash? The right pattern to show off this beautiful skein never quite seems to appear, while the urge to knit up this gorgeous yarn hits you whenever it catches your eye.

The wait is over. Wind that skein and grab a copy of the Atiru Shawl pattern. This design plays with the arrow shawl shape and its use of simple garter stitch in the body pairs perfectly with variegated or eccentric yarns. And that same garter stitch makes this shawl project an excellent accompaniment for your upcoming holiday preparations, allowing you to sneak in a few stitches here and there around the melee.

Last October, my family planned a trip to coastal Maine to explore Portland, Acadia, and Saco — amazingly, the latter being the place my best friend used to live, our visiting there being pure coincidence. So when I got to tell her I was going, I was met with the most THRILLING excitement, and tons of incredible recommendations. In many ways, it felt like she was there, leading me beneath ancient canopies as I wound my way through old cemetery paths, sitting down to dine on oysters at Eventide, or walking along the frosty Old Orchard Beach and admiring the colors found in the wrackline.

When that same person then later told me she was doing a Maine-inspired collection, she asked me if I’d be willing to guest dye a colorway. I already knew exactly what I wanted to do. And of course, if you’ve been around me for a few years now, you know this best friend is none other than Jess of Witchfire Fibers!

My inspiration for “Cape Elizabeth” came from a rocky hike at Fort Williams Park, where, dotted along a gray and blue landscape where stone met sea, an abundance of hearty wildflowers greeted us. The colors were remarkable and surprising against the overcast palette around us, and so, so reminiscent of Maine.

“Cape Elizabeth” will be available on the following bases: Silk Sock, Classic Fingering, Woolen Fingering, Classic DK, Woolen DK, Classic Worsted, Woolen Aran, Baby Suri Lace, and American Rambouillet Fiber.

The preorder opens Friday, September 26th at 9p Eastern and listings will remain open for a full week, unless capacity is met sooner. Turnaround time will be five weeks, shipping the first week of November, between 11/3 and 11/7.

This colorway will only be available at this time!
