We are so excited for Bridgerton Season 3! As we’ve done in seasons past, we’ve created a Bridgerton Mystery Box featuring a beautiful new colorway on your choice of base in a box full of other goodies. This is not a subscription, but a unique one-time Bridgerton-inspired curation. These boxes are wildly popular and will go quickly. Be sure to reserve yours today so that you don’t miss out.

Our love affair with grays continues this week with Chimney Soot, a moody deep mood on Homer, our squishy soft MCN (Merino, Cashmere, nylon) base in DK weight. Choose this colorway for a tonal neutral; great for socks or to anchor brights in a project.

As we progress with our Spring out of Winter Make-a-Long featuring the EUN Sweater by November Knits, we’d like to highlight some helpful tools when making and caring for handmade garments: It’s all about Cocoknits! First, the CocoKnits Accessory Roll can store everything a knitter needs in one compact package. With flexible configurations, you can keep any number of notions, personal gear and cosmetics organized and at your fingertips.

Another great item from CocoKnits is the Maker’s Board. If you enjoy using paper patterns or having a convenient place to keep notes and such, the CocoKnits Maker’s Board is just the thing. Sturdy, and comes complete with magnets to keep your pattern neat and easy to see.

So many great tools from CocoKnits that will up your making game. Whether you are brand new or experienced, you deserve good tools! See our whole collection here.

Don’t get me wrong, there’s something to love about every time of year.

But there’s something about springtime that just hits me differently.

Watching the flowers bloom again after a long winter.

Hearing the birds singing in the morning.

Getting knee-deep into my craft room clearing out old projects and making way for new ones.

There’s something so inspiring about bringing in new shiny things that makes me want to get started on ALL the projects. 😍

Well, friend, speaking of restocking the craft room with brand new pretties, I’ve come with some HUGE news!

Today. Is. The. Day.

I wanted to let you know that this year’s Advent is available for preorder NOW, as well as show you my finished 2023 Advent project that I finished just in time for the launch!

If you’re new to my shop, my Advent Calendar serves as the perfect canvas for me to get truly creative with new color combos and layering techniques that create a cohesive palette.

I will, of course, be creating 24 completely one-of-a-kind colorways that will be fading in the most beautiful way, and one full skein that coordinates with the entire fade! They will not be traditional Christmas colors, although they will be individually named after fun, cozy, and Christmas-y things!

Here’s a rundown of what you’ll receive in this year’s Advent calendar:
– 24 OOAK 20-gram minis, all intentionally dyed with holiday inspiration, even though the color palette will not be strictly “Christmas colors”
– 1 100-gram skein to coordinate with the entire fade
– A custom scent, just for this box, of hand balm by Tuft Woolens
– A NEW countdown box with 25 fun doors and pockets!
– ALL colorways will be individually named after something special and very close to my heart, pertaining to the holiday season.

Featured here, in these photos, is last year’s Advent that I knit up in my current favorite Advent pattern: The Anthology Throw!

I cannot believe that half of these sold in just over a day, and less than a third are left! Thank you SO much for choosing to use my art to make your own!

This newest collection features amethyst, turquoise, sodalite, labradorite, picture jasper, Howlite, carnelian, and more. Each gemstone has a unique pattern with subtle color variations.

Our Penannular Pins combine graceful curves and treasured gems for a fanciful finishing touch. They are perfect for drawing attention to your handmade shawls, cowls, cardigans, scarves, hats, and more whether you’re a knitter, crocheter, or weaver. This functional design has been around since the Iron Age. Vikings, Romans, Celts, Scots, and Irish all wore them! Take a journey through history and add timeless fashion to your handmade wardrobe with a Penannular shawl pin.

Celebrate with Color! We’ve had a little cold snap here in Florida this week, but soon gray winter will completely give way to colorful spring, and we can’t wait. Our shop update this week is spectacular, beginning with one of our most colorful colorways, No Limits! With rich jewel tones, set off by bright highlights, it is truly a celebration of bright color. If you need a colorway to tie together others, one that goes with anything and everything, here you go.

We’re excited to tell you that the colorway Bright makes it shop debut today.  This lively clear blue has never been in the shop before and pairs beautifully, by the way, with No Limits. Bright can be found on both Woolf, and Alcott or Hawthorne minis.

Also in the shop is an exciting Many Minis for You featuring a riot of rainbow color, on Alcott minis, our sock/fingering base. We’ve also got Remember When, a burnished brass color on Alcott and Hawthorne minis.

We’ve also added Slate to our Atwood collection. Atwood is our Superwash Merino bulky base, perfect for cozy hats and sweaters.

Here’s a dramatic OAK (one of a kind) called Hit or Miss. Can you imagine the amazing pair of socks this would make?

A new crafting experience comes to you from Carolyn with our new Botanical Dye Experience at Needleworks, our community craft space. So, if you’re in Central, Florida, make plans to join us on Saturday, April 13th for a unique crafting experience where we will use botanical dyes to create a one-of-a-kind silk scarf. You can register here.

But wait, there’s more! If you missed out on the kickoff our Spring Out of Winter make-a-long featuring the Eun Sweater, fear not! The listing is still up and we are waiting for you! Read more about this satisfying sweater that we are loving more each day.

But wait, there’s even more excitement! Tune in to our YouTube channel, The Traveling Two Ewe Knit, every Saturday morning at 9:30 AM Eastern time for our weekly LIVE podcast! Grab your favorite beverage, your yarn, and let’s make some memories together! ☕️🧶

Remember, fiber friends make the best friends! Thank you for being an integral part of our vibrant yarn community. Stay tuned for more updates and adventures next week! 🎈

I was always slightly obsessed with rocks and crystals as a kid. Whether they’re sparkly or smooth, knowing that they’re formed naturally over thousands of years just fills me with awe. Now that I’m all grown up, I still come back from beach walks with heavy pockets and can’t walk by the “rocks and crystals” bins at national parks without taking a gander. The Rockhound Collection opens for preorders today at 1pm ET. The collection is made up of 12 coordinating colorways inspired by rocks and crystals.

I will also be hosting a Zoom sample show at the time the collection drops and you’re all invited to come spend your lunch break with me chatting about yarn! I’ll have a special discount code for all who attend. If you’re not able to make it, be sure to subscribe to our newsletter for a recording.

Click here for the Zoom link.

If you are asked for a passcode it is: yarn

This beautiful Merino/bamboo blend has been fully restocked on the website! It’s excellent for all those spring and summer garments/accessories. We have been inspired by the warmer weather here in Virginia, and have also added new seasonal colors.

80% Superwash Merino, 20% Bamboo | 4 ply | 100g | 436yd

This super soft fingering weight yarn accepts the dye in a way that gives it a heathered look. If you’re looking for blend with plant-based fibers, this is a good one!

We’re dreaming up all the knitted tees. Here are a few color combos to inspire you as well!

All in stock yarn is ready to ship ASAP!

In our last update we shared that yarns would be being to the website. This week I can let you know that those yarns are all now available on the website. We have Nateby 4ply which is Superwash extrafine Merino, nylon and silver Lurex. This was our original sparkle yarn featuring a strand of Lurex spun into the yarn as one of the plies giving uniformity and a striking effect while still being comfortable next to the skin. As well as individual skeins of Nateby 4ply there are also yarn packs in combinations of two, three and four colours as well as a special seven-colour pack. These packs are sold at a discount from the price of buying the skeins individually and we have taken away the guesswork involved with choosing combinations. There are combinations that work as fades and combinations that are more varied. There are skein pairs with both high and low contrast between the skeins offering you plenty of choice for projects you have in mind.

A NOTE ABOUT YARN PACKS – With the way our website works, if you buy different yarn packs and the component skeins in the same order, it is possible to buy more yarn than we have in stock. If we have two skeins of a colour and that colour is also in a yarn pack (or multiple yarn packs) you will be able to buy two of each packs containing that colour AND two skeins. So please consider this when looking at yarn packs. You can see the available stock numbers for each colour in the individual skein listings. If a colour oversells on your order we will contact you to let you know and offer alternatives.

Brimham 4ply is Superwash extrafine Merino with nylon and this is our go-to sock yarn. It is supersoft as you would expect from the extrafine Merino but the nylon makes it really hardwearing. Although we wouldn’t recommend machine washing any handmade items, this yarn can withstand it. Again, this yarn has several colours available including both variegated and semi-solid colours. Brimham 4ply yarn packs are available in combinations of three, four, five colours, again with options for tonal fades or contrasting mixes. We also have mixed yarn sock sets. These combine a skein of Brimham 4ply with a mini skein of Rosedale 4ply in a contrasting colour.

There are a couple of MKALs and other multicoloured patterns which have recently been announced and we have tried to provide you with lots of options to choose from for any of these patterns. You can use the Yarn Packs menu to select the weight and number of colours required for your pattern. For example, if you would like to see all four colour 4ply packs, select Four Colour 4ply Packs from the menu.

Bowland Aran will also be added to the website by the end of this week so keep your eyes peeled for this!

Preorders are officially open for the 2024 batch of rare Jacob sheep wool yarn from southeast Ohio!

These soft and lofty skeins of non-Superwash Jacob yarn will be available to ship in early spring this year, and will be sold in one, two, or three-skein packages. Preorder pricing is $20 per skein plus shipping. After the skeins arrive, though, they will be available on my website for $25 each. If you want a deal on this yarn, NOW is the time to order!

Because this flock is a black and white variety, the yarn will be a lovely medium grey as represented by the image of roving from this flock.

If you do not need yarn, but you would like to support our efforts to help us serve our regional wool farmers and redevelop our textile economy, we welcome your support via our Patreon. We have a membership tier of $5 per month available (it comes with a single use coupon for $10 off a yarn purchase from our website), or we would be grateful to receive a custom amount of your choice.

Are you involved in the Shave’em to Save’em program of the Livestock Conservancy? We have a sticker for your passport available to ship with these skeins!

Please get this yarn while you can. With strong support, we will be able to have another batch of yarn made for sale next year.
