The wonderful colors in Sound of Music being set most of the time outdoors with the bright greens and blues brought about this lovely skein of yarn.

Shades of blue and green interspersed with white to remind you of the clouds, grass and sky.

75% SW Merino wool, 25% nylon in 463yd skeins.

This is a repeatable colorway so if you would like more than 1 skein and have it as a same dye lot let me know and I will be happy to dye it up.

Frida Fuchs is a new yarn brand from Berlin. Two young and creative sisters founded Frida Fuchs. They have grown up doing knitting and painting in Berlin.

Jana, the older of the two, currently lives in Switzerland and this is where she dyes her yarns. Her surroundings have definitely influenced her and ensures that the yarn has its own flair. She commutes between Zurich and Berlin. Two such beautiful cities have been the inspiration for much of the colour choices at Frida Fuchs. When she is not chasing after her young daughter, she looks dreamily at the world around her, always in search of great colours inspirations.

Julia manages the distribution from Berlin and is the creative mind behind the great names chosen for the colours. Julia recently started her studies as a remedial teacher and has used her love for knitting during her training to crochet toys for the kids. Wool is one of her favourite materials which explains why she is always knitting when not engaged in other activities.

Alrighty folks, we’ve got a lot to celebrate and we want to share it with you. First and foremost, Squoosh has turned eight and that is so exciting! Plus, we’re moving and couldn’t be happier than that. And it’s almost summer! Warm weather ahead. Yes!

To celebrate, the entire shop is on sale through the beginning of June. Find great deals on hand-dyed fibers, yarns, rolags, batts and handspun. Even more, to help lighten the load for the movers, all Made to Orders are 10% off until the 28th. It’s the perfect time to nab that color you’ve always wanted but never got your hands on. But don’t delay, quantities are limited.

A sudden flash of brightness observed over the Sun’s surface, Solar Flare Circular Shawl electrifies your knitting with twisted flame stitches and sun-shaping lace. Add optional beading for even greater solar energy releasing bursts of color as they sparkle in the sun.

Construction: This non-pi circular shawl is knit in the round until the flame tops which are worked flat individually.

Fully written and fully charted, the intermediate level tech edited pattern also includes three how-to videos.

This cowl uses two colors and an eyelet stitch pattern. Worked in the round on circular needles in a worsted weight yarn, this cowl can have a variety of looks based upon the colors selected — do you want to emphasize the contrast of colors or have them blend more together? Pattern includes both written directions as well as a chart for the body pattern (which is also written out).

To celebrate the release of the pattern, use coupon code Pertelote to save 20% through Monday, May 18 (end of day U.S. Central time) on Ravelry.

This week you’ll find five new colorways in my Gypsy Sock label, one of our most popular fingering weight yarns, debuting in the Cedar Hill Farm Company online shop. New colorways include: Wicked Watermelon, Little Fish, Iris, Gumdrop, and Cherry Blossom.

Gypsy is a 100% superwash Australian merino 2-ply that is great for socks, but also makes for an amazing heavy weight lace yarn. My favorite go-to lace scarves and shawls are knit in this super squishy merino. Australian merino is known for its incredible softness, but this superwash also has an elasticity that just won’t quit, which means that once it’s blocked, you don’t have to worry about stretching and sagging. Light as a feather and perfect for summer classics, you’re going to love the yarn you’re with if your yarn is Gypsy!

I’ve just released Marshwood, a lovely two-skein shawl in Bare Naked Wools Confection Sport. The pattern is available on Ravelry, and Bare Naked Wools will be offering a kit including the yarn and pattern on their website later this week. I can’t tell you how excited I am about this! If you already have some Confection in your stash and just need the pattern, use coupon code BNW for $1 off through 5/11 in my Ravelry pattern shop.

I’ve also updated my Etsy shop with some new bags, a…n…d I’m introducing my new gradient yarns that I dyed. They are available in a sock kit that includes two center pull balls of dyed-to-match sock yarn, a sock-sized bag and your choice of any one of my sock patterns. Single skeins for shawl, scarf or cowl knitting are available separately. Use code freeshipping for US orders, good through 5/11. I’m so sorry that I can’t offer this on international orders. If you would like a quote to ship outside of the US, please convo me — I don’t mark the shipping up from what I am charged.

Here is a bit about the yarn: It’s a lovely base of 440 yards of superwash Merino blended with 25% nylon in a three-ply fingering weight. Each skein is dyed individually by hand using colorfast acid dyes. The skeins are wound into center pull balls and are ready for you to knit from. You can choose to knit from the center or the outside depending on how you want your item to look — darker to lighter or lighter to dark! This yarn pairs well with any of my shawl patterns and would also look wonderful knit up as a cowl or scarf. The long color repeats blend from one color to the next.
